CR fell off the last few years on the trail. Didn't land many guys outside of Stingley who was a local kid
Steeples just went out of state and landed 2 elite CBs after only a few years of coaching. Hell he was coaching high school just a few years ago. He's off to a great start

Raymond is no threat to anyone other than Florida. He sucks...

Mack and bates have different games and and wouldn’t even be competing for the same spot /role IMO. Bates is a long athletic db that will go against a traditional #1 or play a more hybrid fs role. Mack is a smaller really quick guy that would line up against a traditional slot type guy or play the nickleback.

Yeah saw that. Gotta see who was all scheduled to go on other visits to other schools today after LSU yesterday.

Let’s bet! If he was going to transfer he would have done so last year.

Mack flying in from NOLA? Man times have changed.

I've taken my share of tongue lashings(wink wink) around here lately and see youre getting it here, knowing your handle , I also know this is for kicks. It's good to rile them up sometimes to bring out their hypocrisy.
The point, reading this thread is like literally watching a worm on a hook squirm trying to figure out what's happening. The level of reasoning some of you go through to make yourselves feel better is insane. Good thing receipts are kept on this site(post history). Go back a couple of weeks when all the Texas buzz was going on, the tune was different regarding Mack, our level of confidence(trust Frank), how elite he was(we had to have him and the class depended on it), the anticipation of the Splash visit to heal all(um), and more egregiously, the shouting down and personal attacks on anyone who begged to differ with the flavor of the Kool aid(conspiracy has been truth a lot here lately). Now "we'll be fine", "Macks grow on trees in LA" and the aged old tactic of questioning the kids intelligence level for daring to have the thought of going anywhere but LSU.
Now I never post my thoughts as an intended troll but it just turns into it because it's just so damn easy to turn facts to troll because of the absolute fantasy land some of you live in. A small example of the reflection of the country as a whole. Narratives keep spinning until the right fit is found, history(your own words) be damned. It's quite comical.
Yesterday was a huge positive regardless of Mack and everyone should feel good right now, even me, hard as that is to believe. 1 reason we should all be celebrating, and maybe I'm on a limb, Bryce Underwood. Him returning, against other schools plans, for the 3rd time since June, family in tow(moms bday before, anniversary this) just can't be reasoned anyway other than extremely positive. Hope you all feel the same. That is elite recruiting.

Except your OP isn't what the poster you replied to is talking about. The reason your OP is getting ridiculed is because of a few things:
1) Mack hasn't committed anywhere yet and you're posting like he's already gone.
2) the years you posted as an example were basically transition years of recruiting from when O left to Kelly getting all his staff in place and rebuilding relationships with HS coaches.
3) some kids just don't want to be in state. Sounds like Mack may be that way so if he goes out of state what can we do? There's a difference between poor recruiting (a bad look as you put it) and a kids desire to want to live OOS.
4) over those same years we also got some OOS top 10 DBs. So when a kid wants to be OOS and we sign another top 10 kid in the same position group from OOS that isn't bad recruiting. That's adjusting to reality and filling a position of need with an attainable option rather than spinning your wheels on kids who don't want to stay in Louisiana for whatever reason.
5) we are very close to signing 10 out of 10 of the top Louisiana recruits, but the way you're post reads is that it's a "bad look" if we miss on one of them when it's really not considering we will likely end up with a minimum of 8 of the top 10 Louisiana recruits this year.
6) Matthew's went to the highest bidder. Lsu basically had to decide on Matthew's or Perkins and I think they made the right choice.
The reality, especially with NIL, is that it's extremely hard to get all of the top in state guys at any position to stay home every year. It's not a "bad look" it's the nature of current day recruiting.

Bates>Mack, LSU just got a commitment from a better out of state CB prospect. Chill.

They are different players that fill different defensive needs

Very good analogy.

DBU not being able to get the top DB from Louisiana three years in a row now. I understand we back fill with top talent from out of state, but this still is cause for concern. Bad look
Man, so much to unravel here. Kelly has only been here less than 2 recruiting seasons. He was left with a cluster. What he did was nothing short of amazing, in building a roster. He’s done this at every stop. It’s of no concern for me.
A talk about DBU

Buts it’s not…The staff has done a great job of getting top talent to stay home. Except for the top DB’s. This isn’t an opinion as bad you you people want to make it one.

It is an opinion that Mack is “officially” gone.

You say the staff is doing a poor job of keeping top DB talent in state. Please explain to me how you force kids who want to play OOS to stay home? If that's your definition of poor recruiting or somehow on the staff for not doing enough I don't know what to tell you. You're just delusional to the reality of recruiting. There's only so much a staff can say and so much money they have to spend. It happens to other big programs as well. Some kids just don't want to stay home or like I said with Matthews you are faced with a choice of who to dump your money in to. Would you rather have matthews or Perkins on our roster right now?
You're also significantly downplaying the fact we got top OOS talent at DB that the staff felt was just as good or better than the guys you listed. Recruiting has to be natiowide. Yeah we missed Matthew's then we get Perkins (choice of getting lb or safety by staff) AND the following year we get Toviano out of Texas and also kylin Jackson (in state).
You're argument centers only on if we don't get the top DB in state to lsu then that's a bad look when there's so many other factors that play into the reason we did or did not land these guys, and again this happens to ALL major programs. Sometimes there's nothing you can do to keep a kid in state.
Since you seem to think this is somehow on the staff can you explain exactly how they failed to get these guys that resulted in a "bad look" for lsu? Tell us what they should be doing to lock down the kids who don't want to stay in Louisiana for college.
Which of the 3 guys you listed really wanted to stay in state and the staff just missed on them?
