Losing top LA DB Talent - 3 years
Posted by tigerbru17

DBU not being able to get the top DB from Louisiana three years in a row now. I understand we back fill with top talent from out of state, but this still is cause for concern. Bad look.

Of all the things to complain about with this signing class, DB should be last on the list. This DB haul is elite with or without Mack. If he’s scared to compete as has been reported, playing for Florida or Texas is a good spot for him.

if he commits to florida then he is dumber than you.

I get your concern. But with the portal, don’t lose sleep over it.

Jeez. You people. You’d probably be bitching that he’s not from far enough away.
Not that it will make you feel any better, but We have a solid DB class.

It's a pretty terrible troll job, if he is. Also, today of all days... we have how many top tier guys on campus as we speak?

We would absolutely love Mack and Bates, but understand what we have in Bates.
From what I've read or listened to:
He has only played at CB for 5-6 games after converting from WR. To already be ranked as the #11 CB in the class (Mack is #13) by 247 composite is unheard of. He has been characterized as having tentacle like long arms to go with his 6'1.5 height (Mack 5'11). His ball skills as a former WR make him a big turnover threat (4 INTs in 6 games at CB). His ceiling is higher than most and with a good SR season could move close to 5 star status.
Again we want both, but Bates looks like the bigger prize and big pull out of Florida. They would make for great bookend CBs in the class.

In a day full of decent news and good energy, there’s always someone around that refuses to latch on.

Teams win champuonships, not individuals. If they dont like what LSU is selling let them go elsewhere! We want thise who want to be here.

Mack has had a committable offer and has known he is a priority for a very long time. He could have committed at any time and chose not to. We want him to become Tiger, and he knows that. Lets see what happens - LSU will survive with the student athletes who want to be here
