I agree. If he stays at his current weight, he would be an excellent DE. If we need a DT, however, he could definitely fill that role

Rasco will be a first round NFL pick at DE. Will gain about 25-50 lbs of muscle and be awesome.

ego is 5th on the depth chart. We have talent. Look out for bennie logan this year. Also Chancey gained some good weight i think he at 280 now. Could be a guy that could move inside.

Isn't he a senior? If he ain't practicing at DT now, I don't think he ever will.

WE took three lat year. Freak Mickey, and THomas has moved inside.
So we have
Jr Downs
rSoph Brockers, Logan
rFreshmen Ego
Fr Freak, Thomas, and possibly Mickey, but he may redshirt. so we will have 7 on roster next year with one senior. i think we will be ok.

If he is up to 250 then 15-30 not 25-50. He didn't look that heavy.

Hunter from WM, Hodge from Neville, and the year before Byran Jones from Junction City. 2 to Arkansas, 1 to TCU, and all 3 wanted to go to LSU.

Exactly. DT recruiting has been one of the most frustrating aspects of our recruiting over the past few years. Still, at least its not as bad as a couple of years ago when we had a walk-on in the two deep rotation.

Rasco was 250 coming out of high school. Fairley was 255. Yeah I don't think he could be a DT redshirt Rasco, give him a year in the program beefing up, then look the hell out!!!

He's a junior. Came out of Bastrop the same year as RR.

Logan , Downs, and Brockers. Followed by Freak, Quinton Thomas, and Mickey johnson. I gues the staf just felt there was better talent available and you can't sign everyone.

Those 2 better pay off. 2 huge risks, Thomas didn't play his senior year and MJ hasn't qualified yet. Still don't understand passing on Hodge and Hunter for two guys that are so risky.

Between Thomas and Lamar Louis, I'm starting to feel like Breaux Bridge could beat the Dallas Cowboys if at any point they could get everyone on the field at the same time.

I like our depth but cannot disagree with you regarding Chuck Hunter especially knowing how thin DT is this year. Also what was the story with DeQuinta Jones out of Bastrop in 09. He was highly rated and has great size. I guess ww chose Hicks and Davenport over him.

why in the hell did we not offer Chucky Hunter?

we did, as a grey shirt. due to self imposed n.c.a.a. penalty limit of 23 signees, it was the only offer we could make since we signed 3 d.t's already.
