I see 23 playing in some role this year
Only redshirts will be Jefferson (2 CB ahead of him from this class), Malone (needs weight room) and Rettig

Jennings could play if Miles chooses to utilize a different style QB with Mettenberger otherwise he likely redshirts barring injury

Jefferson will probably be a safety.

At least a couple d-linemen will redshirt.

Most of the OL recruits will probably redshirt.

I have a feeling that Melvin Jones will redshirt, just to give him extra time to rehab his injury, but who knows.

No way both QBs play. I dont even think one will. Maybe Jennings in some faux wildcat package or because of injuries.

Doubtful.

If we didn't run it this year with Randall, then I doubt we do it with Jennings.

I think we could see Magee running the wildcat (like Ware) if we run it next season.

Yours are as good guesses as any, but these are just wild guesses. No one expected true freshman Alfred Blue to beat out second year, five star Spencer Ware. Who expected three star, true freshman Jalen Mills to be the top contributor in last year's class? Maybe far from red shirting, Jefferson is the top contributor next year, maybe freshman of the year.

I think White is a starter...maybe against TCU. Nkemdiche may be a starter from day one as well if he commits. Herron will receive PT early and often. Leslie and Avery play early and often. Gilmore will be in the DT rotation.

I think all of the OL recruits except for Pocic and Fanaika will redshirt barring any injuries (although Dodd and Boutte may end up getting some playing time).

I think Patterson and Tevin Lawson will most likely redshirt on the DL, both need some work in the weight room. LaCouture may also redshirt if they decide to put him at DT instead of DE.

Melvin Jones will likely redshirt as well.

Rettig and Jennings hopefully both RS. If they do not, then Rivers and Mett are either injured or have really regressed.

Outside of those, I think Robinson, Cutrer (if he makes it to campus), and Jefferson are all candidates for a redshirt. All three need to add some bulk. Robinson can't be 6'2"/165 and get major playing time at this level. He'd get worn down in run support.

Just my opinion though. Not any sort of analyst or specialist.

I'm not sure I agree. I think both of them have the potential to beat Rivers out of the backup spot. The fact that they are here this spring makes it feasible. It's hard to predict how QB recruits will pick up the mental parts of the college game, so I'm not going to guess, but I don't think it can be ruled out.
