Exactly Boxcar. Also, like a previous poster just said, there are many more first downs than third downs. Also, downs don't tell you the whole story.

What the hell are you babbling about? I even said in my post that I should not have been posting my thoughts in this thread AND that I did not support to OP premise. And how was I "demolished by actual, data-based analysis"? I SAID I DON'T SUPPORT THE OP PREMISE.

If it makes you feel to better RA my post, go for it. Don't worry, I won't lose sleep over it.

There's your false narrative right there.

Fair enough. 72% is quite a bit more unbalanced than 60%.

I still stand by my point about neutral downs, which I have yet to hear anyone disagree with. Les Miles is heavily biased to run on these downs. Unfortunately, these would be the easiest passing downs for a young quarterback. I'm not asking for him to be 50/50 in these situation with a young quarter back, but I think we should be throwing on 1st and 10 a bit more often than 2 times a game.

ETA: On second thought, I don't know why I am putting this in this thread. I don't agree with the original premise. My point is more about the years excluding 2013.

If you are going to keep pushing a false narrative about 2013, please at least use accurate statistics.

Are you saying he is pushing a false narrative by saying we did not have a balanced offense in 2013? Are you saying 62-38 run-pass ratio is balance? Where is the false narrative? He used the wrong stats, but the correct stats still back up his point.

And too many people get stuck on run-pass ratio over all. A balanced offense is balanced on neutral down and distances, i.e. 1st and 10, 2nd and 5. Les Miles has never and likely will never be balanced here. That's fine, but lately (besides 2013) he has been very run heavy on these downs. This is making us more predictable.

I can say that and it doesn't mean I think he should be fired. I am simply making an observation. And judging by the actions of the defenses we face, the DC's agree.

Oh, you zip it, Doris! Rogers Hornsby was my manager, and he called me a talking pile of pigshite. And that was when my parents drove all the way down from Michigan to see me play the game. And did I cry?

young executive guy

Actually, I think this guy is a delusion of his. Same with all the "Men who play God without permission". I have a feeling this show is going to go more into his schizophrenia than hacking. The problem with a show about hacking, is that the people who know that world and would be most interested will not watch it if its not realistic. And Hollywood likes to embellish that world.
Does anyone have one of these?

How will you feel about 3rd and Chavis if it turns into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and ????

Offense was historic
Defense sucked

Offense = 24th Nationally PPG, 6th SEC
36th Nationally YPG, 7th SEC
Defense = 21st Nationally PPG, 4th SEC
15th Nationally YPG, 4th SEC

I'm not posting this to disagree that our offense was very good to great last year. Anyone saying otherwise is not being honest. However, to call the offense HISTORIC and say the defense was our problem is also not being very honest. And I sincerely hope Jax comes in and tries to convince people PPG doesn't matter like he does YPG.

OK.....There is an SEC rule that says this can't happen.
Is this where we are as a program now? A successful season is being ranked at the end. Or is it just this year? If it is the latter, then losing guys early is not such a great thing after all.

No, they had 3 timeouts to start the drive. Used all 3 after each play. No penalty and we kick a FG, same time left on the clock.
