sammy williams from baker.a all state 4a in 90 and 5a in 91.mvp of the 1991 all star game.as a kid playing on the south baton rouge rams he started at rb over warrick dunn and kevin franklin.had a long list of colleges but was set on texas a&m.he never made it because of grades and drugs.he went both ways as a safety and wide receiver.when baker was leading ruston at the half in 90.williams had all the points .1st time ruston trailed at half all year and only time.some of the ruston guys probably remember him.i seen him bagging groceries about 10 years ago.

I graduated from West Monroe the same year Glenn Ellis graduated from ouachita. He was a hell of Qb, but not smartest dude. He never made it past junior college. His teammate,WR Conney Ray Wilson played at NLU and was damn good. Yes we did suck at West Monroe in the 80s, but the year Ouachita won the 4A(last year of no 5A in 1989)was Don Shows 1st at West Monroe. Boy, we had no clue what was in store for the football program at Wm.

Fair to say that I have locallly seen the Flavin surname before but I do not know his(Dan's) relationship with the young lady. I do not personally know either one of them or any of their family members. I have only seen her paricipate in volleyball and softball games with her high school teams. I hope that satisfies your curiosiy.

How good was Michael (Beerman) Lewis. He went to Grace King, but never went to college.

It was Joe Harris from Independence. He was a great RB. We played them in the semis that year and he actually broke his leg in that game. I'm not sure what his ACT score or his grades were, but I'm sure that injury had something to do with it as well.
