Because we are just happy to have a QB on the roster at this point. Lane and LSU are still doing whatever it takes to get Leavitt and/or Longstreet to LSU to be QB1.

Right now he is QB only 1. By spring we will have at least 2 others and they will all compete. Next September whichever one Lane thinks is the best will step out on the field against Clemson.
And OP, this isn’t so much direct to you cause I get what you are asking. Is LSU bringing him in with intention of starting. It’s a legit question. But the reality that most of the sky is falling crowd don’t get is that Lane is having to replace literally almost the entire offense out of the portal. Right now it’s just about getting bodies on campus, obviously trying for the best possible, but still getting bodies on campus, and then coaching them up and making the best of what you have.

Was really hoping we would take him. Don't care what competition he faced, kid can play. Ole miss QB came from division two and came close to a championship. It really depends on being coached up and we finally got coaches that actually do that.
