Kiffin runs his QB's like a heavy RB. Dart would just pound in there for 4/5. If he ends up at LSU I 100% believe Kiffin has seen what he needs to for him to be successful.

Well Kiffin recruited him before so there's that. I believe Kiffin would be the right fit for Lagway.

Because he can make every throw and is athletic enough for what Lane wants to do. He's struggled with soft tissue injuries which shouldn't affect him much as he grows into his frame.. he's got 2-3 years of eligibility if lane can convince him to commit to two years. Let the kid develop and compete.. who knows.. after his freshman year I don't think Many LSU fans would have baulked at the idea of Lagway in p&g

I wouldn’t mind taking Lagway if we take another QB who is projected to be good. Lagway could perhaps be more of a project, but his potential is undeniable. I’m sure Kiffin could turn him around.

The people that don't want him are stupid.
He has generational talent, and he is by all accounts, a great kid.
He just needs to be coached.
Isn't that why we're paying lane a hundred million dollars

This article is dumb. Lagway has immense potential despite this board hating on him. He looked great his freshman year. He beat LSU on 1 leg his freshman year. That's the problem though, he can't reasonably develop because he's injury prone. He has 0 shot at being Lane's #1 guy just by his injury history. Backup? Sure. He isn't coming to be a backup with the opportunity to full take the job next year. He's going to start somewhere.

I'd be very surprised if he came here to sit to develop when he could get millions to start elsewhere. LSU isn't paying a guy to ride the pine millions as a reserve. They will look at lower ranks for the backup like Chambliss giving someone an opportunity in reserve. I think it's pretty clear Lane's #1 guy will be Chambliss or Leavitt. Lots of reports think LSU is at the top for ASU's QB.

I think he is a solid choice. With good coaching! Remember even with Napier how he played against LSU his freshman year.

Not enough swift-a-foot.

Agree with that. I can't forget that on the pick 6 by Spears against Lagway/Florida, admittedly a very fast Spears headed down the sidelines and Lagway had a great angle on him and still couldn't even touch him. Lagway is not slow but I agree...swift a foot he is not. Reminds me of the former Arkansas QB K J Jefferson.

Who do you think Kiffin should go after for quarterback then?

Your title to this thread is misleading and the random article you linked is even dumber.

Kiffin is not investing millions when he has his pick of QBs in the portal for this guy to be his #1 choice. The only way he goes to LSU is if he's willing to compete for the #1 spot. They would not guarantee him anything so that means he has no shot coming here.

I'm sure Kiffin likes him but he also realizes a guy who's injured every year does nothing for this program when he has been injured every year since HS. Someone will suit him and guarantee him a starting spot so that means he's off LSU's board.

Why would Kiffin gamble on this guy when he has his pick in the portal with guys who have proven production and not the injury bug headache?

Go where the expectations aren’t so high.
There’s a crap ton of stuff he’s gonna have to ‘unlearn’, and may not be capable of it.

I'm not crazy about the kid, but if he's Lane's flavor of choice, then so be it

Not denying the upside, but too much risk as #1 due to his injuries and his inconsistency. If he would transfer, I’d just hope we have another stud for him to compete with.

He's clearly a tremendous athlete, but that doesn't mean he would excel under Kiffin.

If you look back at the OM QBs, they weren't 5 stars or stood 6-3/6-4 with a cannon of an arm, but they were good at running and throwing, but not excellent at either. His QBs also played with a chip on their shoulder, which not all players have.

I agree - saw him play in High School and he cracks under pressure also.

We all saw that in Tiger Stadium this year.

This guy won’t get us there.
