Keon Coleman enters portal

We could definitely use another receiver… not much proven behind Nabors, Thomas, and Lacy. Hilton, Anderson, Parker, Sampson, and Brown could all be great but no experience at college level.

WR is a position that freshman can come in and contribute right away. The 3 freshman need to get reps. You don’t want to lose them to the portal making them wait for their opportunity.

He has some serious NIL deals. Somebody would have to pony up.

Coleman balled out last year and led Sparty in receiving yards, catches, and touchdowns. At 6’4” 210 with elite basketball skills (hands, body control, vertical jump) he’s a mismatch for any DB. The starting QB also entered the portal as I’m guessing players are not happy with HC Mel Tucker. Coleman may also be homesick after spending that last 2 years in E. Lansing and maybe wants to come home. Not sure he’s a fit at LSU due to the full stable of WR’s. He had 43 offers and can be a difference maker. I would prefer to see Coleman land with a school outside the SECW. He would be WR1 and shine in Lane Kiffin’s pass happy offense
Solid article on KC from MSU

We would have plenty enough targets for him to keep him happy.

Oklahoma is supposedly in the lead.

Would be a phenomenal get. He’s a day 2 draft pick as things stand now. Would be a great big fast athletic target to add that’s proven.

never understood why he wasn't a top recruiting priority

He’s a take for basketball for sure.

LSU signed 5 WR’s in 2021, all were rated higher than Coleman. You never know how kids will turn out once they get on campus. Deion Smith was the #1 recruit from MS and the #9 WR - kid never made the transition and appears to be out of football completely due to grades.
