Saban did not do them justice by the date her retired. He should have known that or announced it during the season. Maybe his team would have stepped up more in the semis.

I liked Pate until the constant A&M and Alabama lovefest every single offseason. At least he can admit he has Bama bias, but I still don't like him for it. Other than that I like most of Pate's opinions, but it's enough to make me stop watching.
He is constantly pumping Bama. He now says Saban will be behind the scenes fundraising for Bama and to lookout for Bama. I believe Saban was the brand and don't see any reason for top players to go to a Sabanless Bama.

I believe Pate is usually fair and balanced, but he is willing to let his bias for Alabama cloud his better judgment and for that I am very disappointed.
I also got tired of hearing every single offseason that the upcoming season for 8-4 A&M was going to be a potential Natty run. Pate thinks the world of these two programs for some reason. Constantly telling us how afraid we should be of them.

Alabama's current roster and 2025 class are completely collapsing. Any plan that was put forth by the REC and Alabama AD after Saban's retirement to keep players from transferring was an unequivocal failure.
Bama is not immune to the shitshow college football has become.

He pulled back the curtain big time on his true feelings during the FSU playoff frickery. He lost a whole shitload of fans over it, including me, and rightfully so.

They seemed to have forgotten what a mixed bag Bama was between Bear and Saban. They pretty much cycled up and down like everyone else.
