Yes. We offered him a month or two ago. Last I saw he was choosing between LSU and A&M, but I'm not sure we have room for him. After signing day, on his radio show, Orgeron mentioned safety as a position they could possibly still add someone. I assumed he was talking about Gilbert, but more recently, O seemed to indicate we're using the remaining spots on o line.

Unless some of these other spots fall through, Gilbert won’t be in this class. Three spots are being devoted to OL and the other to either Logan Diggs or BTJ.

My bet is that two spots go to OL (we'll whiff on the third) and one to Logan Diggs. That will leave two spots open - one if we land BTJ.
Honestly, it might be a better strategy to always keep one or two spots open. In that way we can adjust to injuries, defection, or disappointing development by grabbing a transfer.
