This thread has gone so far off the rails it might as well get anchored.

Describing someone as retarded is not medical terminology. The word retarded is considered a derogatory slur by the disability community and medical professionals. Hearing someone describe any child as retarded is offensive and hurtful to the parents
Really?
.gov still uses the term on its official site
Mentally retarded was used for a long time as a technical term. Retardation itself is a technical term in several industries outside of medicine. It isn't derogatory no matter how overly sensitive you are and your overly sensitive self does not negate my desire to use technical terms.

Im sure you would be more understanding if one of your kids were born developmentally impaired in any way.
I don't play hypotheticals, but if I did, I would say that I am not overly sensitive of technical terms.

This is the last time I'm commenting on this...
This is from a Special Olympics article referring the R-Word as the R Slur.
In 2010, President Barack Obama signed “Rosa’s Law,” which changed “mental retardation” to “intellectual disability” in U.S. federal law. Inspired by 9-year-old Rosa Marcellino, the law was a key milestone to promoting inclusive, people-first language.
Intended or not, "retarded" is hurtful to the people with intellectual disabilities. They categorize it as a slur the same as other slurs used against minority groups.
My son has autism and he has a unique way of communicating and expressing his feelings. It hurts his feelings to be described as a "tard"
In any way. No parent wants to see their child hurting. Please consider their feelings for once.

LSU football has been retarded since 2020. This year we get back on track.

So, you take issue with medical terminology used to describe a condition.
Sooner or later people like you will get offended by the word disabled as well.
Sorry, I should have been more clear...I would NEVER call someone with a disability a retard, or tell them to quit acting retarded. That's just me, but you do you...
If you're a functional adult and doing retarded shite then yep I'll call you a fricking retard

Anybody got anything new on Brewster? This thread has completely been derailed and turned into a “is retard nice to say or not” thread.

That was an impressive video. And it was produced not by LSU but by the recruit. It is amazing what recruiting has become.
