Been seeing this come up a lot. Kudos to the lab girl but Jadas a 3 time State MVP , soon to be 4th time. I think she’s allowed to have a game not scoring 28-40 pts.

Kori had Jada Rattled. She scored a TOTAL of SIX points against Kori.

I don’t know enough about the college game to say. I asked her coach earlier in the year. He chuckled and said it’s up to her coaches

Jada has a lot of upside, but realistically she likely isn't going to play really until year 2 or 3. She will get mop up minutes similar to Velez/Kent/Bartlett this year next season.
LSU's next PG is coming from the portal at least for next season and Long term it depends on if they land Aaliyah Chavez (#1 player of 2025 out of Texas). Supposedly LSU and Texas are her top schools.

From what I’m reading it sounds like Jada is a more natural scorer than Velez

Jada is a much more pure scorer than Velez is. Velez is more of a natural point guard but she has to learn how to deal with defenses that press (her biggest issue). Velez has struggled but I also dont think its fair to completely evaluate her when she only plays with the backups and walk-ons in garbage time. Plus she is only a true freshmen so I cut her some slack.
I think LSU will be a top destination this portal offseason for a legit point guard/ball handler. And we wait to see what Chavez decides in the coming months

Bartlett has been fine sitting on the end of the bench for three years. I don’t know why she would not be fine with a fourth unless Kim tells her to look elsewhere.
Yes, I can see Velez moving on. She has been a disappointment. She’ll develop but I just don’t think enough to ever become Kim Mulkey’s starting point guard.
I foresee Reese and HVL moving on. Either way, we need a quick postseason announcement from those two where we know how to handle the portal.
I hope their announcement comes a couple days after our repeat NC.

I don't think Velez is moving on at all. A disappointment.....................? How? Because as a freshman she doesn't log significant minutes with two senior point guards ahead of her? I think she'll be fine and ain't gonna go anywhere. She's shown flashes of improvement in the limited minutes she's gotten. I saw her in high school. The young lady is a baller.

Velez is not transferring, if things dont move by the end of year 2 then maybe. Still too raw and talented to throw the towel in this early...
Reese and HVL have 48 hours after their last official game to announce their decision.
LSU will probably add a larger group of transfers (4ish) and work on developing this past freshmen class to make a jump year 2.

This. Kudos to the other girl and I wish her well. But this is starting to sound like that woman on the softball threads a few years ago who talked up that one girl like she was Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente, and Brooks Robinson combined.
The girl ended up transferring to Baylor and ended up a pretty good player. You long-time softball followers on here will know what I’m talking about.
Still happy to have Jada Richard as an LSU recruit.
