So we’re clear, it’s your position that the staff is spending just as much time recruiting Campbell and Howard as they are Law, Moss, and Wiggins, right? Got it.

I’d contend they contact Campbell and Howard MORE actually

Texas Law has some restrictions and schools there have lots of other schools that are going to watch over them to ensure NIL compliance. The Texas law interestingly stats the "Congress of the USA" must act to ensure the integrity and stability of college athletics

Here is an overview of the Laws that were passed

So lots of laws in place that clearly state what must be done and what can't be done.

Texas NIL law does not allow athletes to use the Universities Trademarks. Interesting, I think LA's does and LSU is allowing theirs to use LSU brands and trademarks. I guess lots of internal checks in Texas, the Texas Tech, Baylors, SMU, TCU', Houston's of the world did not want Texas athletes using the UT Trademarks. Same for Aggie.

Y’all need to chill , do y’all really think the us government is gonna go on very long without an extremely stringent policy soon.

Someone will be all over nil like stink on shite within two years.

If not, I mean, do y’all really think Ed o of all people isn’t gonna make sure LSU continues to recruit at a high level. I mean, that’s his specialty. I’ve heard well respected coaches say Ed is the best recruiter of all time . Seriously he’s looked at like that by his peers.

That dude ain’t about to start losing players to other schools because they have something we don’t. He will identify a need then he will works towards making it a positive. Just like he did with our offense and our d line.

He’s also as good of a dL coach as there is. He talks too much, but when that’s the main and only complaint, pretty much, then you are doing as good as a program can do when it comes to leadership.

So sick of how people dismiss a guy as not smart that has done what he has done. LSU is an offensive factory now, all because 10 wins wasn’t good enough.

Chill out,he won’t get out worked or out maneuvered when it comes to recruiting. Scott Woodward won’t either. LSU had a billboard in time square, not bama, LSU. We don’t take a back seat to anyfrickingbody. We are the second best program in the sec , and don’t let one decommit and a 5-5 season make you forget that.

We gonna keep pumping out top 4 classes and if that means we have to bend the nil rules to do it then we won’t let that stop us either

What has made you sick. SCOTUS ruled 9-0 in favor of NIL. States are passing laws on it, including LA. So whether you like it or not, that is the reality of college football today.

1) Transfer Portal is free agency
2) NIL is compensation that can be earned legally

And yes, taxes are going to be a part of it.

Your notion of what college football was is over. There are Federal bills in the US Senate talking about Collective bargaining power.

You guys are being way too dramatic. You realize this has been going on for awhile now already? It's just legal and out in the open now.

This is like saying people have been smoking weed forever and now that it's legal only the same people are smoking it. The stigma is gone. People who didn't want to skirt the rules and legality have nothing holding them back. The game has changed. The amount of players in the game will increase in an almost unfathomable amount. A company like Nike couldn't sign a top 3 guy like Kayvon Thibodeaux to a million dollar contract in college like they can right now. In the new game, if you don't have a Phil Knight, a hundred mini Phil Knights, and 1000 mini mini Phil Knights, you're fvcked.

I agree, which could happen if not done in line with what laws allow and even stretching it could be enough to gt you banned by NCAA. Which is why I hope the Federal Government standardizes the law across the country.

Not you LSU7096, but I have had some differences of opinions with others in this thread regarding NIL. I am well into my 50's and know about rogue boosters and bagmen. However, given NIL allows student athletes the opportunity to earn money legally I personally am not going to label a kid doing something afoul of NCAA and State Law(s) absent any evidence.

My theory, and that is all it is, is that he is a 5-star recruit, he saw what Bryce Young got 1 year into Alabama (former 5-star, yes QB) and he is going on visits to get a sense of what his "legal NIL" opportunities are. The coaches can't legally per Texas or LA law do anything, but the recruit can sit down with Current players and see what type of NIL deals they have and use that to get a sense of what he could "legally make."

At this point not looking to get into tit for tat with anyone, just my thoughts.
