Yes. He is the #1 Safety in the entire country right out of Baton Rouge. One could argue Safety is currently the weakest spot on the team. All the top programs want Blaine.

Blaine is an absolute need. Homegrown top prospect in the country at our biggest position of need. I hate the term cant-miss, but it's about as close as you can get. Hopefully safety is alot better by the time he gets here, but he could solidify that position.

Why are yall getting so worked up about the comment? It’s not as if the services have never missed. Hes halfway through his junior year. Still plenty of time for him to solidify his ranking or plummet.

If you haven’t noticed there is a lot of that here. There are some posters who seem strangely committed to defending other sec schools at every turn while simultaneously belittling anything positive related to LSU in every sport.
Hell, I’ve seen “LSU fans” say they’d root for other schools just because they like the other coach better than our guy. Weird.

Blaine probably grows into a LB but he is absolutely a “can’t miss” prospect. A guy who everyone wants that lives basically on campus means optics aren’t good if you miss…especially if you have his brother

He’s not even committed to us yet.
Seems like he is just making an observation. After watching Blaine’s highlights, I don’t see why he would be a top 10 prospect as a safety. Looks like he is best running downhill in the run game and fits the mold of a linebacker. His pass defense highlights are just him tackling people as soon as they catch the ball.
Again, he missed most of his sophomore season and he is only a junior. There is plenty of time for him to move around the rankings, and his recruitment is not over. Someone saying they are unimpressed after watching him live isn’t a reason for the board to melt and ask for a thread to be deleted.

The reason you don’t understand why he would be a top 10 prospect is because you don’t seem to understand what goes in to ranking prospects. The high school film you mention is just a small part of what the experts look at, and there are multiple reasons and variables as to why it only plays a small part.
