We can win another natty it won’t matter, Saban will still hand pick who he wants. That’s why he’s always as good as he is, he isn’t a magic football whisperer. He gets good players. For every one good blue chip player we get, Saban gets 3-4. It adds up and shows in depth at the end of games, especially along the DL. I really thought Sage Ryan would be LSU royalty like Faulk, Peterson, Burrow, Cannon and the Honey Badger. This one is just a kick in the nuts while you’re already down. I hope the you g man has a change of heart and realizes whatever happens in his life he will be a god here in his home state.

Losing a kid that’s an LSU legacy kid who’s from the state and has a cousin on LSU staff and is the #1 safety in the country at a position of need with a clear and obvious path to be a day 1 starter is just completely nuts and inexcusable.

The same people celebrating every 3* project we land are the same ones complaining every year when Alabama steam rolls us. And they can't figure out why.

FOR REAL. I get a kick out of the idiots who claim stars don't matter, and yet the teams that dominate are stacked with blue chip recruits.

Yeh I once thought that getting Dylan Moses on the team would be what we needed to get back to elite level football. Then I watched Devin White, Patrick Queen, Jacob Phillips and some others go as top 5 picks in the draft and then win us a National Championship while Moses sat at home injured and not playing his second straight year.

I thought losing Surtain might make our trend of top corners coming in skip a beat or even collapse...Then the best cornerback to ever play at lsu came in and again..won us a natty. Then the next top corner came in the next class and now they both play on islands together.

When Sopsher burned us for bama i thought well damn we will never be able to keep high level d line talent in state at home....Then i watched Roy and Guillory both come in at once and then saw that Siaki Ika is transferring out as of the last few days....And thats because of one thing and only one thing, he got beat out and knows it. Meanwhile Sopsher is also on his way out of bama, like an idiot...

Trying to act like the handful of players that get swayed by the best coach to ever do it and acting like they mean more than they really do is just plain making it harder for yourself. I mean LSU just fielded the greatest team in history and all those recruits saban pulled had to watch it happen.

Damn. I’m just way off base here.

This board fluctuates so much and it’s not really indicative of all LSU fans.

We had the best year ever.

We heard RTWFU and were giving Ed the because he had an amazing class.

We got arik Gilbert.......pardon me. Ed Orgeron got him. Sa an didn’t get him. Les miles would have never gotten him. Les miles would have never gotten the best season of all time. And savan doesn’t have the best season of all time.

We timed the market perfect. We didn’t win 15 games over a two year period just to end up in the capital one bowl. We picked all 15 in one season. Truly amazing.

This is a tough year but damn. Chill tf out. It’s not even December yet.

People don’t get that it’s an odds game.

It’s like going to a roulette table where you can bet Black/red, Dozen or a single number and have the same payout.

You put the money on Black/Red. That’s doesn’t mean you’ll lose but you’re going to win a lot more often than the single bet.

If only people complained more on message boards, LSU would get whoever the fans want.

Look here, Saban will always get a few kids out of Louisiana every year. To say he can cherry pick the ones he wants is an overstatement here! It's no different then us going out of state and doing the same! We have the #2 S in the country coming in this weekend with his parents. He's from Pennsylvania!

I get what you are saying but this is different because we don't have another 5 star to take his spot.

It's going to hurt if you lose the #1 safety. It hurts even more because you aren't replacing him with a top 10 safety

It certainly matters but it's not everything.

Case in point LSU getting beat by team comprised of mostly 3 stars and Bama's "5 star at every position" defense is giving up lots of points and yards this year.

See the post above yours. We probably ARE replacing him with a great one.

Winning is the goal. Recruiting is a means to an end.

So, if we won another national championship, it would matter.

What a ridiculous statement.

Prior to this year, Alabama has had very little recent success recruiting elite players from Louisiana. From 2017-2020, as far as I can tell Sopsher is the only Alabama signee with an LSU offer, and he's already in the portal.

Looks like they may get a couple in 2021, but it's far from the situation you seem to be describing.

I haven't done an analysis on this, but I would be SHOCKED if the teams that win the natty's are not ALWAYS In the top 10 if not top 5 in recruiting-every year.

Recruits get ranked higher due to offers from top 5 teams, so it’s a circular argument.

Dylan Moses, Chris Allen, Christian Harris, Slade Bolden, DeVonta Smith, and Phidarian Mathis all had LSU offers.

As long as they have the money and the prestige they will win regardless of the coach. They will hire the best in the country when Saban is ready to go.
