Kids lots of times make a committment to lock up a place when their top school doesn't offer. If they do, they go back to their top school. Neither have an offer from LSU. They will change if offered. Just like we took two who said they were firm last year. Book it

He's a stud. His qb basically just throws the ball in the air and let's him go Randy Moss over 2-3 defenders. Also runs pretty well on the little screens. He has wonderful body control in the air and good hands. Needs some coaching but he has top flight tools. Texas is filling up fast(by the end of next week they should be full at WR) so we will be battling Oklahoma,Okie St and TAM most likely. Hopefully we can blow him away when he and Miles visit. Hopefully Texas doesn't offer Miles either.

Golden seems solid right now and I commend him for that but it's February and he'll be bombarded by calls over the next 11 months and TAM will have a down year(or normal depending on how you want to look at it) on the field. He will likely see us in person against TAM and he will likely be very impressed by our DL. Long way to go. I like our chances if we pressure him.

I agree with regard to Wilson. However, as already mentioned, Golden has been given the opportunity to receive a LSU offer and has not pursued that opportunity by forgoing the junior day.

Wilson went to the jr day in hopes of receiving an offer, so your prediction likely does apply to him.

Okay, we get what you are saying. We are saying that after the season starts and ya'll suck and we kicking arse, he might re-consider.

The Bama-esque ego that lots of LSU fans have gotten the last 10 years is refreshing

So....let me get this straight.....

You guys feel like this kid deserves an offer on the spot (I haven't watched anything) yet the coaching staff feels like he's not worth one yet.

I just find that kinda funny. That's just me. I'm only laughing under my breath. Not literally an "lol", but I just think it's a little funny.

You guys don't think there's a reason for not offering? Don't think the coaches found an issue somewhere? Don't think the coaches found something they want to work out yet?

...or do you guys just think they're lazy and not seeing those fantastic highlights yet.

All I'm saying is give it time. If he's worth the offer, he'll get it. But there's obviously something holding it up that needs to get worked out or fixed. If he doesn't get an offer, then they obviously have someone higher on their list that they think they can land.

What's the issue here?

Kind of reminds me how last year everyone was pissed Nacho didn't get an offer when he said he loved LSU and Avery was his boy. People came out the wood work claiming he was a for sure take and LSU coaches were screwing it up.

Maybe so. Although I doubt e committed because Sumlin promised that he'd win a SEC Championship in 2012, a year before Golden hits campus.

I'm sure he's quite aware of LSU's defensive prowess.

A&M's clearly messing up at tackle. Exhibit B: JJ Gustafson.

It's funny that the ags are taking all these kids so early when they all scoffed at Texas for doing the same thing . Going to be funny when half the class leaves.

Are you just refusing to recognize the premise or do you still not get it?

Golden doesn't have an offer from either program because he's chosen not to.

What about my posts makes you feel as if it's reasonable to conclude that?

Because I mentioned that Golden could go to either LSU or Texas upon exerting some effort?

Most knowledgeable recruitniks knew that Garcia was coming off injury and had very little tape when that crap was going around. The people clamoring for him were basing it purely on his relationship with Avery Johnson and the way Nacho fawned over LSU after his visit. At no point in last year's cycle did we even pursue Garcia. We had better options from the get go. Not the same as Wilson who has film from last season and is a top 100 player in the country. Doesn't mean the coaches have to take him but talent is not the question nor is injury. Garcia's problem was talent and injury. Wilson is a definite major BCS level OT, Garcia was lucky to get an offer from Louisville. Not saying Garcia isn't a good, solid OL prospect but he's not the level of talent that Wilson is. If the coaches don't want Wilson then so be it but until they land someone(or offer someone we have a legit shot at) better or comparable to Wilson then there will be some that question what the deal is. I assume the staff has their reasons that we aren't privy to.
