I would say that his weakness is speed until his 40 time is less than 4 seconds. Hey, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Racial stereotypes are always going to bias some people.

Trey Quinn is the next Wes Welker or Eric Decker or Danny Amendola or Steve Largent.

Yep. He reminds me of all of them for some reason.
I've seen nearly all of Trey's high school games and he doesn't resemble Welker at all to me.

I think Trey's problem is you don't see elite speed until he needs it. Not sure what to make of that.

I agree that he has different gears. I still think it is the stride and running style that misleads many. Watch Colin Kaepernick today, very similar. It is tough to get an angle on these guys because of their deceiving speed due to their stride length and fluid/effortless running style. Watch Trey's film over the years, and you will see many fast safeties with the angle, and he outruns it.

Exactly! I was just going to say turn on the tv right now and watch Kaepernick and you'll see Quinn run.

For that matter, I've seen Quinn being clocked at 4.38 which is faster than Kaepernick.

Name: Colin Kaepernick
College: Nevada Number: 10
Height: 6-5 Weight: 233
Position: QB Pos2: TE/ATH
Class/Draft Year: rSr/2011
40 Low: 4.43 40 Time: 4.53 40 High: 4.65

The 40 & 100 meter times indicate that speed is a strength for Quinn. Looks like a stereotypically inane evaluation from Scout.

6'5 Kap= TQ barely 6'0 He may have long strides for his size but not the same at all. FYI I like TQ but being that he's short with a relatively long stride is a hinderance in terms of quickness and agility. Despite lack of both runs good route and makes tough catches = good football player. I see this guy being lance Moore type and watching today's game golden Tate type player. I don't agree with immediate PT bc he has to be able prove route running and most of all understanding of coverages, the latter being his most crucial element of success

Long stride, short strides doesn't much matter at the end of the day. It's how fast you get there, and statistically he gets there fast.

I agree, route running, coverages etc are important as well.

Scout actually may be spot on. Which is to say that Quinn is an absolute badass at everything else. If speed is his weakness, and he's as fast as he is, then everyone else is fuuuuu.....d.

Moustache, I understand that YOU didn't say this, Scout did. Quinn is very shifty and very quick and it translates very well to the football field. There are sprinters who can burn up a track, but are quite so spectacular on a football field. The speed/quickness this kid possesses is made for the football field. Scout is just filling in paper with words.

He's not like Welker or Amendola. Much more like Steve Largent with speed.

And size? He's bigger than OBJ and Landry right now! The kid is special, and if you ask me, the ONLY thing he has working against him is his skin color for the idiot non athletes that are allowed to write on sports topics.

The Tupelo Daily Journal sports section today, Monday, has an article about who is visiting Ole Miss and State this weekend. Trey Quinn is listed as attending ole Miss's weekend. It says he is not committed to OM, but is coming to visit this weekend. This bothers me. I'll keep up with what the papers say about him. The Ole Miss writer over here is from Baton Rouge and used to be in Monroe too at their paper. I'll keep up with his articles and let Tiger Rant know about Quinn's visit.

Not sure if this is accurate. As od yesterday, in his own words, he didn't have other visits planned, but was contemplating a trip. Maybe he made plans last night, I don't know.
