yep, saban prolly lands about 4% of the kids he offers here which is pretty shitty but better than any other coach. The amount of time and money he spends in LA and with his connections, it's simply impossible for him not to land some decent players every now and then.
yeah, its really a waste of time and money here with the lack of results...its almost like he does it just to frick with lsu
devall and collins are the only 2 he has pulled that we really wanted or could end up hurting us and they have spent A LOT of time here

If you don't think that plays into it, you're naive.

if collins is as good as they say, he'll start one year and leave, apparently he still hasn't beaten out vinnie badger at safety.

I believe both the 2010 and 2011 regular season games were on national TV. The 2011 game was the highest rated regular season college game in many years.
What can we do about giving them 2nd chances that we don't get?

damn, that was a long time ago.

yet the only fanbase that remembers it is LSU.

I would like to thank Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the panel at ESPN that started the campaign for Alabama in the NCG immediately after we beat them.
Saban has ESPN on his side. ESPN sets the opinion. They're going to get every break and every benefit of the doubt.

Maybe I am just noticing the effect in Louisiana more than other places.
prolly so, since you notice it more.
Saban gets a pretty shitty return on his investment in La though. They have spent millions of dollars recruiting here since he got to bama and the most he has to show for it was the 4th best RB in the draft last year, some backups, and rejects.
All this. Bama doesn't pull an insane amount of talent out of LA, this year just happens to be a big one for the state and he's trying his luck with the top players as anyone in his shoes would.
GA is Saban's honey hole.

Only thing we can do to help that is beat them, and show recruits they are not better than us.
Bingo! And that starts this year. That's right. This year. It's time to take a stand. This is Sparta!!!!!! Ok, little carried away, but y'all get the point. Whip some arse and such.

saban actaully recruits about every top player in Louisiana and he may get 1 or 2 out the top 10 because he saban. LSU still gets 8 out of the top 10 so i really don't understand why we complaining. He raids georgia and florida for top player's like he got a team in those states.

Only thing that can be done is fire Les & Frank. They just shite the bed on LSU recruiting
That is the opposite of what I said.
Why go full ranter?
You think that Miles and Wilson aren't talking about this and know what is going on? Of course they are. They are great recruiters and have done a great job. This is a challenge, though, and I know that they work on it all year long.

Alabama or any other school doesn't take the top Louisiana talent from LSU. It's amazing how obsessed and delusional Bama makes some of our fans

the more he gets, the stronger it makes him, but the weaker it also makes us.
This is the flaw in you logic. Because he gets Landon Collins-we don't get a comparable safety ? Because he gets Eddie Lacey, we don't get a comparable running back ? It's not a zero-sum deal. LSU gets a class of 3-4-5 star kids also.
Listen, if we poached the number 3, 6, and 7 guy in the State of Alabama EVERY SINGLE YEAR, you don't think Nick would find replacements in New Jersey, Florida and Texas? Of course he would, and so does Les.
Cam Robinson, for instance, is NOT irreplaceable. Any more than Lael Collins or Chris Faulk were. We have never lost a game to Alabama because we lost a Louisiana kid to Alabama. If he was coming in and getting our best kids every year, rather than the cherry-picking that is actually happening, you'd have a point. 4 guys on an 85 man roster is not a big deal.

Who else are we competing with for the top spot each year?
Are we supposed to follow only our own team and not think about our #1 competition?
Are you in business at all? That is not a very good approach. Yes, focus on your own product the most, but also be aware of what your competition is doing. Bama is on top right now. Anyone who denies that is in, well, denial. So yeah, I watch what they are doing, especially in relation to LSU. Especially in relation to recruiting.

especially when you consider LSU has a least 50 players on the roster from lousisana. all he has is 4 and he raiding Louisiana?? I just don't get it

that's just lagniappe, it's not the main reason they are here.

Let's revisit this when Kwon sacks AJ and ends the late drive to give LSU the win this year.

Yet you're vastly overestimating the success that competition is having within the state even given the unprecedented run they're having on the field. aTm in future years may grow into a much larger threat if they can build their own fence around Texas and win a few battles for LA kids.
Just win, otherwise don't fix it if it ain't broke.
