Sorry got mixed up with University Lab.

Still, Southern Lab is just up the road. That should be an LSU pipeline.

So Randall has more loyalty to his former coach than his former college/team?

A lot of former college players feel estranged from their school when a new HC takes over. Les was criticized behind the scenes because he was far from welcoming to former Tigers. Saban is the opposite. He would probably let Randall come & throw a few passes as the scout team QB this week.

Marcus Randall didn't steer Chris Allen anywhere.

Flip the script. If an on campus high school football coach was steering their best recruits from bama to LSU how long to you think that coach would last on bama's campus?

Think about it

I think you might be confusing Southern Lab with University High. Are you suggesting Southern University should consider firing Randall because he's not "steering" players to LSU?

exactly. 9 times out of 10 it comes down to people and their relationships; not names (incl. school names), cities, or any other category. Just the way it is.

LSU should offer Randall a spot as an offensive assistant.

It is too bad LSU can't utlize the good Marcus, i.e. Marcus Spears, also a Southern Lab grad I believe, to off set Randall.

frick our fans are stupid. How do you know Marcus didn't do everything he could to get Allen to LSU? Marcus didn't steer Allen to Bama. Bama is LBU. That's why Allen is going there.

This post let's me know how uninformed and negative you muther frickers are on here! Marcus loves LSU and he has less to do with his guys schools of destination than you think. Corey Brownfield actually has more to do with it and the idea of letting a kid go play where he wants to is totally crazy?!?! Yall all can sux my coke if you wanna trash Marcus with no knowledge of any fricking thing!

Not really sure, but as far back as the late '70's that has been the case. I was really surprised that we got Marcus Spears in 2000. Before that we lost a number of really good players.

It may be more of a lack of connection to LSU, rather than any actual dislike of our program.....

Marcus is not steering any kid anywhere. He is letting his players make their own decisions and helping with any questions or guidence asked by them. Lsu fans need to understand that north Baton Rouge is southern jag country and they don't care about lsu the way that we do. Whoever is the hot team that's where they want to go to and support. When stump Mitchell was the southern coach they started losing bad and a lot in north Baton Rouge became more lsu fans and you would stop seeing southern flags and apparel. Once they fired stump and Dawson Odom tooked over they are winning again and a lot of them jumped off the lsu fan wagon back to driving around with southern flags and wearing southern clothing. I see a lot of bama apparel and roll tide signs in north Baton Rouge and lsu fans need to understand they don't have that passion for lsu like you would think even though we are in Baton Rouge.
