He's not able to lean on talent and size there. He's hot and cold at times, but definitely has a lot of work to do when he gets to college. Potential is there, but will depend on how bad he wants to work and develop himself.

Well no, because he’s in Orlando, Florida. The thing about Sopsher is his potential is through the roof, a lot of people are starting to think he’s LSU bound for sure now.

I think we've known this was the case for awhile, so it's not shocking. I'd like to see video of him getting beat, anyway.

The fact that he needs a lot of attention and coaching combined with this long-standing and seemingly affectionate relationship with O tells me that choosing LSU over Bama might be wise for him. That and we don't have like 6 other DL committed.

Oh, and we'll take his brother.

And he's from Louisiana.

Anyway, hope he makes the right choice.

I think he’s the most overrated recruit this year given his ranking. His potential is enormous given his size and quickness but he is a significant project. He has absolutely no technique, no instincts, lack of vision and anticipation, and his desire and motivation is questionable.

He could blow up or he could be merely average.

He's always been very overrated. I've said for a long time the perception of him committing would be bigger than the impact he would ever have on the field.

So now that he sees he isn’t all that, he is LSU bound?

This is more about winning a LA recruiting battle against Saban than anything else

Maybe a bit of an Ego Ferguson type career?

I mean does this come as a surprise to anyone? He got dominated by 6' 200 offensive lineman all year long. I know this kid is a must take, but I don't like it! Amite has done nothing for us, it's not time to start with him!

Not basing it upon that, he’s just trending back to LSU.

He is easily wired by a good OL and taken out of a play because he doesn’t anticipate or know how to use his hands.

He needs good coaching and self motivation and commitment.

Ika needs a lot of training and conditioning. Boy is flat out just fat. 325? More like 375.

But great potential.

E have always known his ranking is based on potential. He has been blessed with incredible football talent, but he does need alot of coaching.

The thought of seeing him live up to his potential, is very exciting. We haven't had an interior DLinemen or 3/4 DE with his upside since 2011/2012. Maybe Danielle Hunter, but his case still mystifies me. I feel like we get alot of guys that over-perform their talent because of their work ethic. Not often do I see us get guys like him who appear to have little work ethic, and turn them into the best possible player they can be... I hope Sopsher becomes that at LSU, for his sake and for LSU.

Pretty pricey cost if he doesn't pan out. I am more concerned with the 2 guys LSU would have to let walk at this expense. I am in no way saying if it's worth it or not. I can still see both sides.

If he is saying he will only go to play for whoever offers his brother then surely Alabama won't have the room or desire to offer both.. So why should he even consider them.. right? haha

This is really going to be interesting to monitor over the years.

Or Al Woods.

Or he could be a beast if he puts it all together.

Very true...O's got his work cut out for him, which makes sense.

No doubt. Especially for Coach O. Its about winning LA, and rewriting the narrative that Bama can get the highest rated players out of LA.... Even if he ends up being a flop, its something O has to do. He has to prove he can beat Bama in those in-state battles for top prospects.

He is known as a recruiter, and if you can't beat Bama at that then you have nothing to show people that its getting better. If he consistently gets all the top guys in the state and still loses 3 games a year, that is the hill he is going to die on, but he knows he HAS to win in recruiting.
