he would have never talked to LSU much less go on an unofficial visit and all that. IMO he being a homer and not seeing it for what it is. But then again, we are all being homers too.

Well first, he tried to commit in June, but Les Miles being the genius he is, wouldn't let him. Then in October he had an official visit scheduled to LSU, but just before that happened, Miles got canned and he ended up going to Alabama instead.

Anyway, it's obviously his father who is the one pushing him to go to LSU, as it was his old man that paid for the unofficial visit this weekend. Apparently, his father believes he'll be drafted higher in the draft if he plays for LSU, as opposed to Oklahoma.

In addition, he told all of his close friends and relatives that Monday would be his decision day. So hopefully he picked us. But you never know. From what I read, everyone said he talked like he was committing yesterday. They even said he almost committed a couple of times yesterday, but what if his father didn't like it over here at LSU? You never know. Also, Patrick Queen left yesterday feeling like both Phillips and Gay were going to commit.

I've seen all that also. I hope Queen is right and Phillips and Gay will both be Tigers.

I found it. For the reporter to say "Jacob really wants to go to OU" why did he take the unofficial visit then? If he really wants to be at OU, he would have never talked to LSU much less go on an unofficial visit and all that. IMO he being a homer and not seeing it for what it is. But then again, we are all being homers too.

Kary Vincent visited UT this past weekend and it's been largely reported that he's one of LSU's most solid commits. I know Vincent's visit to UT was official and there's many speculations on the visits purpose, but some committed kids continue taking visits for different reasons.

Taking all the information we have on Phillips into consideration it appears his interest in LSU is strong. The unofficial visit speaks volumes about the level of interest him and his family have in LSU. It's widely reported that his dad is very high on LSU and it's partly the reason for Jacobs unofficial visit. I think Phillips really likes LSU and what it potentially offers him but he's morally torn about the situation. Breaking his commitment to OU is tough and it's probably something he doesn't take lightly.

Vincent said he owed it to Herman since he's been recruiting him forever.

Was that pinned tweet of him commiting to OU always there? I don't remember seeing it this morning.

I hope so but I was hoping he would have committed to us today because I'm becoming skeptical of the flip

I think the decision will definitely be tomorrow if goes pass Wednesday and especially to Friday he's stuck with OU

I sort of feel like if he was coming he would have given his commitment to the coaches during the visit, then announced Monday or Tuesday. Like you said, the longer this drags on, the more worried I am, but hey, we're going to have a great class regardless. Oh, and lol at conservative Ben no matter what happens.

New CB yesterday (Dave Bevan) for him going to LSU. LSU now has 50% of the CB's for Phillips (247 Sports).

I'm not as in touch with recruiting as I used to be but, at this point, I'd think the longer this drags on the better it is for LSU.
If he were to flip, it would have taken place on the visit to LSU, not after coming home and setteling back in.

If an announcement happens a few days after the visit, it would tell me he had time to digest the visit, talk it over with his parents, and discuss the situation with the OU staff. To clear the air about all of the buzz, he would then reaffirm to OU.

However, the longer it drags on, the more of a coinflip it would be. He would truly be conflicted and I would consider it a toss up. When trying to flip a highly rated prospect from another major program, all you can do is put yourself in that 50/50 situation at the end. LSU has done that.

Maybe I'm not reading the tea leaves very well but I always put him as a 50/50 to LSU.

I'm sure he means he's active on twitter vs quiet since the visit.

Well the fact that he hasn't reaffirmed his commitment yet tells me that he's just thinking about how to tell OK. Like someone said he seems like a honest classy kid so he probably talked it over, can't stop thinking about that film and is just trying to figure out how to tell them then calls LSU. I just can't see him saying no and he wanted LSU to begin with, or at least that's what I've heard. We'll see sooner rather than later IMO.

Mr. Phillips has retweeted 2 different tweets this morning. One is screen shot of a conversation he had with a friend, which doesn't seem to be linked to OU, and a religious tweet from a fellow Ou commit. Phillips' last original tweet was sent on Jan 22nd saying "The Lord got it".
