This is simply not true. Why would you say this?

Well what if Chris Allen flips, or Taylor and Brooks commits? We only have room for two more, according to everything I've read.

However, I just read that Allen is locked in at Alabama and will not flip. So he's out. Meanwhile, Tyler Taylor won't make a decision until after his Arkansas and Auburn visits, but I'm hearing that after his visit at LSU that it's between LSU and Auburn.

He's the #1 rated ILB, he would not be turned down. There is a spot for him no matter how late it is. Brooks is the odd man out in my opinion. As thin as we are at ILB, I believe we would take Allen, Phillips, Gay, Taylor and Queen if it was a possiblity. I don't think it will happen like that but if it did, I think we would take them. Either way, there's no chance Phillips is left out if he hasn't decided in a soon enough time frame as others.

We'll know before that, I suspect.

Here's a little info to help you out, in the event you are new to this. It's a common mosconception the NSD is the last day vs. it actually being the first day to sign a binding letter of intent.

MAYBE... but even then there are extreme examples like Andre Anthony. Even though he committed he couldn't enroll due to an eligibility SNAFU.

If he doesn't flip today or mid day tomorrow I think he sticks with OU. From an article on Oklahoma 247 board he informed a commit there that he would make it known where he would commit too

Link? I've searched OU's 247 site and can't find it.

It's inside the Marvin Wilson intel thread or article. Their mod sounds pretty naive on this whole thing.

It's all about the letter of intent at this point. Words don't mean anything.

I found it. For the reporter to say "Jacob really wants to go to OU" why did he take the unofficial visit then? If he really wants to be at OU, he would have never talked to LSU much less go on an unofficial visit and all that. IMO he being a homer and not seeing it for what it is. But then again, we are all being homers too.

Hoping he makes the best decision for himself and that it happens to be playing for the Tigers.

Which is to commit to LSU. Seriously, name a linebacker from OU in the NFL. I can't think of one that is even remotely a recognizable name. Deion Jones and Kwon Alexander are KILLING it in the NFL and Deion is on his way to a Superbowl as a rookie. His dad knows this and that's why he's pushing Jacob here. I think he sees the light and he becomes a tiger tomorrow. Or at least announces it tomorrow.

I completely agree but Jacob feels conflicted to flip because he is afraid of what it would say about his character. Phillips needs to realize, as good of a player he is, even at this age, this is a BUSINESS decision. He needs to think "Who can do the most for me" and the obvious answer is LSU. Look at that amazing Big 12 D. He would be an absolute waste there.
