This should be worded differently. I have never been to a private school in my life and never once have I felt I didn't have a decent shot at life.
What EBRPSS non-magnet HS did you go to and how long ago was it?

I graduated from Woodlawn in the 21st century and had no problem graduating from LSU with a mechanical engineering degree. My close friends and family from Woodlawn include a lawyer, a doctor, and an architect. So yeah, private schooling doesn't determine success.

Oh yeah, you grow up in a 700 Sq ft shotgun house with your 2 brothers, 6 cousins, and single unemployed aunt, no parents in a neighborhood (if we wanna call it that) where not a single house is appraised at more than $25K? Where the fun thing to do is go break in dorms at LSU and steal golf carts from their golf course. Where you're smoking dope at 9 bc your 16 yr old cousin, the closest thing to a dad you have is doing it. Tell me that kids chance, percentage wise, of becoming an engineer or a doctor.
Look, I'm a conservative republican, so I'm leary to get to into sociology and make excuse for why these kids are certain ways, but if you look at their environment all day every day like I do there's certain things you can't deny! And I'm not looking to take anybody's tax money to give to them or put any rich people down for their benifit, but if somebody with means offers them an opportunity to be placed in an environment where that outside influence isn't so powerful and they see success paying off everyday with their peers and it gives them a real chance to change their surroundings, then Frick you for saying it's "not fair"!

I don't know why you are trying so hard to make this a political thing. You aren't wrong on a lot of your thoughts. You're just presenting them very poorly.

Your son was hardly normal. One of the brightest, funniest, most polite kids I've ever been around. I know at least one of his teammates and his family that are certainly glad he stayed at the U. Hope to see Bruiser clearing the way for Nick in TS this season.
And for the poster that made implications about Tim and Nick, you're talking out of your arse, and insulting those young men so STFU. And like wildman, I'm not an alum either, I graduated from public HS in Baton Rouge before Judge Parker had completed killing the system forever.

What benefit does wildman have for being the whistle blower? He gets a school in trouble, and a kid in trouble. Why do that?

Does one need to benefit from doing the right Jung and turning in a cheater?

I have and there are a few items that aren't "recruiting". If you don't think that public schools got tired of imbalance of "scholarships" or in their cases "the local school doesn't offer everything the kid needs" is just plain burying your head. They got tired like EC having a disproportionate balance of football to the general population, you're not be honest with yourself. As I've mentioned in this thread,, I attended a local Catholic school in EBR.

Imbalance of scholarships? Meaning every single kid in public school gets a full scholarship and 99% of private school families pay their own way while also paying the taxes for the full scholarship the public school kid receives?
Publics schools have built in advantages athletically that private schools can never match but that doesn't fit the agenda so we need to forget that fact.
