To everyone saying “hold the breaks,” they’re not dumping millions of dollars into this roster for a rebuild.
I disagree. We're mostly taking players with some experience and multiple years of eligibility left. We will try to win next year of course, but the approach is definitely a rebuilding of the team.

I told AI to use on3 as a reference, this is the output on LSU Offensive Line:

Braelin Moore (Transfer): 4-star (former Top 250 HS, top portal IOL)
Weston Davis: 95+ (high 4-star / borderline 5-star)
Brett Bordelon: ~88 (4-star)
Bo Bordelon: ~86 (3-4 star)
Solomon Thomas: 96.08 (5-star, top IOL)
Braden Augustus: Unrated / low (walk-on level)
Hayes Fuqua: Unrated
JaKolby Jones (Juco Transfer): Unrated / mid-tier juco
William Satterwhite (Transfer): Mid-tier transfer (~86-89 equivalent)
Ja’Quan Sprinkle (Transfer): Lower-tier FCS (~84-87)
Darrin Strey (Transfer): Mid-tier SEC transfer (~87-90)
Brysten Martinez (HS): Unrated / 3-star developmental
Ryan Miret (HS): Unrated / 3-star developmental

We need some plug and Play OL and an edge rusher. Maybe another experienced LB, CB, S for depth when injuries occurr. I don’t know about punt returner maybe that’s covered. I wanted one elite WR but there aren’t any that I want. Maybe another young WR.
And a partridge and a pear tree!

Keep in mind there is going to be a lot of national push back for the SEC in the playoffs next year after getting 5 teams in and performing so badly this year. Maybe only 3 SEC teams if it doesn't go to 16

Meh.

The SEC in 2024 CFP was also underwhelming and low and behold we got 5 teams in this year. I think the committee weighs each season independently.

Good news is that B1G will likely just have 2-3 teams in the conversation next year. That's our biggest competitor for spots. The Big 12 was a total flop this year. One team made it and got shut out. Now that may start them out on weak footing. ACC may get 2 teams with Miami carrying water this year for them. That still leaves 4 SEC spots even with 2 G5 or Notre Dame in there.

Of course this is a play-off team. Teams are built annually now for the immediate term. We could conceivably have 22 different starters in 2027 than the team we field in 2026. New era boys.

Maybe one of them will step in and start at the guard spot. I know that they are legacy guys that have a dad that is a big booster, but maybe one of them can emerge.

Michigan. We'll see. They have OU, Indiana and PSU at home. Travel to Oregon and Ohio State.

If we get Seaton, then I think the O-line can come together next year. That's the key.

Chatter seems to be backing away from the Seaton to LSU talk. Sounds like the vibe changed a bit for some reason. Sounds like people are not as confident that he is coming here now.

You don’t spend this kinda money for a year building up to a playoff run the following year.

You spend this kind of money to make the playoffs.

No caveats related to team chemistry , starting qb injury/experience, etc…

It's immensely difficult to basically replace an entire team and have them firing on all cylinders game 1.

It’s not necessary to have them firing on full cylinders by week one. Not in today’s playoff structure. Probably have to have us firing on all cylinders by week three for Ole Miss. We can have two losses and still make the playoffs so as long as we’re peaking at the right time, we can drop the game to Clemson.
