If Davis had not flipped, would we see the meltdown we're seeing?

I'm thinking most everyone would be happy with the class if Davis hadn't flipped. There are always going to be morons on the fringe who fling their poo at every opportunity. However, LSU has a terrific class, and prior to Davis flipping, nearly everyone seemed justifiably pleased.

THUS, does it make sense that ONE player (a player who appears to have severe character issues in that he lied about his commitment all the way up to the eleventh hour) should have such a detrimental impact on how the recruiting class is viewed by those shitting on it?

No. We've already all gone through Kiel and Collins...if Davis didn't happen it would of been fine today.

But Davis flipping like he did is a real last fart in the face needed for meltdown mode.

Thank God recruiting is over for 2012, what a shite-storm the last month.

Without a doubt. It IS all because of the Davis flip.

It's true.

People were tired of dealing with bad news. This was just one more reminder. Lost a lot of in state talent in this class.

Because it seemed like the bleeding had stopped, finally.

Davis just ripped off the gauze, and added some salt.

It is a glaring reminder that we are unable to get instate talent to stay home.

this has been a shitty month.

i would have been annoyed regardless of the davis flip, to be honest. post-season has been too much of a clusterfrick for my tastes.

I'm thinking some people were secretly hoping that Davis flipped just to have an excuse to bitch about the state of the program.

Pretty much sums it all up.

I don't think this is what $4mil a year buys you

we should have gotten at least 8 or 9 of these guys for $4mil

According to Rivals:
1. Landon Collins 5* to Alabama
2. Denzel Devall 4* to Alabama
3. Torshiro Davis 4* to Texas
4. Otha Peters 4* to Arkansas
5. Dwayne Thomas 4* to LSU
6. Davante Bourque 4* to Tennessee
7. Lamar Louis 4* to LSU
8. Travin Dural 4* to LSU
9. Alonzo Moore 4* to Nebraska
10.Derek Edinburgh 4* to LSU

Excellent point.

I tried to qualify it in the title a little.

However, there is a segment that is in full meltdown.

Not pressing Moore at the end of a cycle is a mystery. No smoke on Moore or Peters this past month. Thought for sure they would start pressing.

We didn't even want 9 of these guys. Don't be a johnny come lately recruiting follower that comes here to complain without knowing the dynamics. You want to complain about the top three, sure, do it. But don't start talking about Peters, Moore, and BOurque as if we missed on these guys. In retrospect, we probably don't let Bourque go. But we did, and it was a choice.

I notice you used dated information to make your point. We already saw that with the most recent rankings we got 7 out of Rivals Top 10, not 4 out of 10.

The meltdown police can thank Davis. Most people are over Collins and Kiel. Had Davis not been a bitch about it and done it 2 weeks ago, wed have been over him as well and get to enjoy Kwon.

When did these state rankings come out? That's ugly.

Bad part is, even if we would have know about Davis, Bourque still wouldnt be here. It would have had to have been Hill not come, it was very well stated he wanted to be the only RB.

Depends how you want to look at it. The only two we lost were Landon and Torshiro. We didnt push for Denzel because he didnt fit into our system. We didnt offer Otha or Alonzo. And we had Davante until he saw Hill come onboard and then he got scared. And the only sting of Torshiro is that he flipped on NSD.

It was my understanding that for Bourque, Bourque made LSU choose between him and Hill.

Hill wins that battle everytime.
