Other than Tyson Jackson, I can't think of a Tiger that has been drafted highly after a senior season. Until there's more examples for coaches to use to sway players to come back, I believe the trend will continue.

Despite losing 6 players that were in listed as starters the 2nd week of August, the team still managed to win 10 games and thoroughly outplayed the national champs in one of their losses.
Having 8 months to replace 6 starters doesn't seem all that daunting.

Due to an unprecedented scheduling glitch, LSU will have to play Alabama 12 times a year for the next 4 seasons. Elite being designated for a single season doesn't strike me as the best way to gauge perception of what a fanbase believes their team should measure up to. In my opinion, the only elite seasons in recent memory are 09' Bama, 04' USCheat, and 00' Miami.

While I pretty much agree with the point you're trying to make, the basis on which you're proving it with is kind of flawed. He's 35-6 over the past seasons... 2 of the losses were to eventual national champions, possibly 3 by tomorrow. 2 of the losses were road games against top 10 ranked rivals. Then there's the "10 wins, only beaten by teams ranked 2 and 3, WTF you mean 'Chick-Fil-A' bowl" game that had all the making...
