Joe Brady is spear heading that recruitment already. Cooper likes him a lot, too.

Peyton was never known for having elite arm strength, even in football. His mind and anticipation on throws we're off the charts.

This is completely not true. LSU had nothing but respect for Archie having lost the previous 2 years to him and Ole Miss and respected that he was playing with such a injury. LSU's defense went out of their way not to destroy him or try to further hurt him when it could have been easy to do so. This was so evident that Archie's Mom wrote a letter to Charlie Mac thanking him and his team for not taking advantage of the situation.

I don’t know anything about that letter, and yes, LSU players did respect Archie, but there was definitely payback for Archie beating LSU the prior two years. I didn’t mean to imply that they played dirty, but LSU certainly put an arse whipping on Archie.

Did you watch the game, because I did, and I remember.

LSU crushed Ole Miss and Archie 61-17 back in 1970 when Archie played with his broken arm in a cast. LSU just relentlessly pummeled him and Archie never got over that arse whipping.

Well, we did throw oranges at him all night long, though...

That story about the letter was once published in a book. Sorry- I can't recall the name. But she supposedly did write Cholly Mac to let him know she appreciated it.

Ole Miss lock. He won't even visit LSU. Walker Howard from STM is better

What is the family issue with LSU?

Probably the 2 plays in 4 seconds that LSU ran to beat Ole Miss a long time ago. Peyton has said he'd of gone to LSU if Booty hadn't committed there. How much truth there is to this is anybody's guess. It's ok though. Louisiana got it's payback for the slight in 2009.

If I'm not mistaken, one of Archie's grandchildren at the end of the recent documentary actually says he pulls for LSU

Was it Arch?

Walker schools weren't that good in the 80's so i'll excuse this. This is absolute bullshite. Peyton and Archie liked Lynn Amedee, but he was never going to LSU and playing for Curley Hallman.

Please provide a link for when Peyton ever said this.

Think so, it was the oldest kid sitting on the steps. Archie's reaction said a lot if anyone noticed.

This will seem petty, but I don’t like the kid. Coached against him for baseball this summer and he’s an arrogant turd. Most of the little shits from Newman are that way so I guess I should have known I know. I’m a POS for holding this opinion

Honestly you have that right and to be honest, Cooper and Peyton were exactly the same as kids. I was in between them and saw both but only played against Peyton and he was a spoiled little rich kid too. That really has more to do with their environment and not so much their character to me because it appears that all of them were turds growing up but as adults I have been nothing but impressed with any of the Mannings.

The kid will go to where is the best situation for him and none of his family would want it any other way. Those of you who claim Archie has so much animosity towards LSU that he would force his grandson into going somewhere else are clueless. I seriously doubt the old man even has very much influence at this point.

Ole Miss fans were super pissed when Peyton chose Tenn but that's what he wanted.

Archie knew that Ole Miss was going on probation because of Billy Brewer, so they decided it was in Peyton's best interest to go to an SEC East program. The top two teams at the time UF and UT. Spurrier v Cutcliff. They looked at the schedules for the four years Peyton was going to be in school and UT didn't have either Ole Miss or LSU on the schedule. That's why he went to UT.
