I hope Lane goes all out for Old Dominion QB Colton Joseph.

An obvious comp would be Jaxon Dart. 2600 yards passing, 1,006 yards rushing while completing 60% of his passes for 21 TD. The 10 INT is concerning but he would likely be your day 1 starter and gives MVB some competition with college experience. He will also be a junior so it’s possible LSU could have him for 2 years like Burrow and Daniels who both made huge leaps their 2nd year at LSU. James Franklin is likely to make a big push to get him to Virginia Tech but we can offer him more if Lane thinks he could be the answer at QB next year.

IDGAF who he brings in.
He can evaluate and develop QBs 100000000000X better than me and anyone on this site.

I'd rather have Sam Leavitt from Arizona State.

The last transfer portal QB we got from there worked out pretty well IIRC

This is the correct answer with the added benefit that he’ll have more resources to get practically anyone he wants

I believe I read where that kid may be going to Virginia Tech

IDC what anybody says, WHEN Chambliss gets a waiver, pay him, go all in on the portal, and let's make it to the playoffs year one.

Lisfranc surgery could keep him out a long time. Avg nfl recovery is 11 months.

Yeah Leavitt would be the primary choice but Lisfranc injuries scare the shite out of me. It seems only about half ever really heal right and its a long arse recovery. I think Franklin convinces Colton Joseph to go to Va Tech but man what a dual threat he is and the ways Lane can use his skill set would be fun. That being said I fully believe Lane could make a stealing pile of dogshit at least an SEC average starter.

Lane will pick a good one. He was chomping at the bit during his presser wishing the portal was already open to make some calls. He'll get a leader with accuracy, quick release/decision-making, and mobility/play-extension.
Size and/or cannon arm would be a bonus.

Damn shame that Nuss couldn't have had a real coach with a real offensive scheme and a quality OL.

LSU just needs to make sure the next starting QB is not a damn statue and can at least scramble out of trouble for a first down!

quote:His recovery time is expected to be 5-6 months from September. He could be fully healed by spring practices. If he enters the transfer portal, along with OL, SL should be LSU's top priority. The dude is has champion written all over him. He's fast, has great agility, coach's son, very mature, strong arm, accurate, goes through his progressions quickly...etc. If we want to win immediately at a high level, Sam Leavitt is who we go get.
