1973? What's a raider doing out in Montana?

Graduated from LSU in 1977, went to grad school in Fairbanks, Alaska, got a degree in Wildlife Management, spent the last 32 years working for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. I like to hunt and fish. Still bleed purple and gold.

I rarely see Okra in gumbo and prefer gumbo without Okra. In fact I think it ruins the taste therefore this is why most gumbo's I see have no Okra.

If gumbo originated using Okra then through the years it has been weeded out because most people simply do not like Okra in their gumbo. I did a quick survey with 20 friends and only 1 liked Okra in their gumbo.

While we are at it oysters in seafood gumbo, yuk I say. There again I prefer my seafood gumbo without oysters.

This. Recipe please? I've never had this before.

(And definitely okra in seafood gumbo. And oysters. And gumbo crabs.)

I think this is the raisin bread pudding thing all over again. Raisins are really common in bread pudding but 90% of people don't want them in there.

Thanks - it has been fun. And the best part is, with the Internet and satellite TV, I can follow my beloved Tigers as good or better than when I lived in Louisiana!

I'll be retiring in a year - I'll be able to spend more time back home in N.O. and attend LSU sporting events.
