Too early to know obviously but looks like we got the better end of the deal with Ika.

Rushing to judgment after only three sessions is unwise, but so far Ishmael Sopsher is not close being able to contribute to the 2019 Alabama Crimson Tide. Listed at 334 pounds, Sopsher should not be much overweight at 6-foot-4. Conditioning is apparently the greater problem. He has been observed being “gassed” at every practice session.

Either way, Ish must lighten up or toughen up or both. Also in need of better physical preparation is fellow freshmen Byron Young. Not as much as Sopsher, but Young has had to miss reps from being physically overstressed.

I started thinking that during the All-American Bowl all-star game.

4-star DT Siaki Ika honored to receive All-American Bowl Jersey, focused on decision

East High School (Salt Lake City, Utah) defensive tackle Siaki Ika can’t wait to get home to help his mother cook for his in-home visits with USC and LSU tonight.

“It will be a tough decision, but I’ll weigh things out and make the best choice for me,” Ika said. “I’m enjoying the process for now.”

Thank you VERY MUCH Fehoko Family, especially makuahine Fehoko and her endorsement of Coach Eaux and the LSU program!!!!!

Very true. I often wonder, when considering prospects like him, how much of the hype is the experts not wanting to be wrong?

A kid gets tabbed as a freshman or sophomore as a can’t miss prospect and it seems like the experts are reluctant to acknowledge warning signs bc they’ve gotten so locked in to their own hype about a kid that it becomes about saving face and sticking with their own story.

Several posters who saw sophser play in high school predicted this but it was dismissed as bs or sour grapes.

Maybe all the experts need to put more value on effort and work ethic?

I actually got banned 7-8 months ago for saying I thought he was going to be a bust, doesn’t have the work ethic etc.

Now everyone is saying it, wonder if they’re getting banned too?

This is what I have said about Dylan Moses being picked for the all-SEC team. The "experts" are grasping at straws to make the information people paid them for to be worth a shite.

Three LSU LB's are rated higher than him by PFF but they are fighting and clawing till the very end to make you think they were right in his being rated as the #1 player in the country at one time. I find it funny.

Totally agree. Moses isn’t what he was hyped up to be since 7th grade. He’s a decent player who benefits from the guys around him as much as anything. He, alone, is not a difference maker imo. Now, he can jump on a pile like few others can, beyond that I’m not impressed.

I’ll gladly take Phillips and our crew.

He is NO GRANT DELPIT. He isn't even a JaCoby Stevens or Michael Divinity.

He has that down to an art form. That dude looks like an NFL all-pro when he jumps on a pile of players AFTER a tackle. Maybe he does deserve to be on the all-SEC team. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!

No one besides the people who hyped him for years are impressed. NO ONE!!!!

Jacob is so much better and has done so much more than Moses it is really not even funny.

No doubt, I would say that one worked out quite well at LSU, and now as an ambassador of our Tigers in the NFL.

You can’t distinguish the difference between a potential recruit and a player for a rival?

I wouldnt count on that, he is definitely very overhyped coming into this season. PFF graded him out in the high 60s last year which is just above average.

Not surprising at all. His size and strength are still a site to behold but you could tell very early on that's all he had. Now he might get his arse into gear and become a dominant NT, but he has a loooooong way to go.

Couldn't happen to a better group of folks, by a better group of folks.
The checks have cleared, and the Charger is in the driveway. This is a great example of be careful what you ask for, you may get it.
How lucky is Coach O? That guy could have cost him 2 scholarship.

I think there’s a mentality that just belongs at certain schools. They attract certain types for different reasons. Saban needs to do better at sorting out the groupies lol

if you remember, he WAS a 5* and then was dropped to a 4*
Also in the All American game, he was getting beat up on by higher quality talent....

Small school
Small School opponents

Ehhhh we will see
He is a KID and so i won't Bash him (too much)
But as a Louisiana kid myself, i hated "John Curtis" but a part of me wishes that i had the opportunity to play in that State Title game

So until our Tigers TAKE BAMA DOWN....
We will CONTINUE to lose rich talent to the Devil, otherwise known as Roll Tide!!!!

On the positive, this is a good of a year as any!!!!

Actually, Orgeron has done a pretty good job of keeping the best guys home. Better than Miles was doing there the last couple of years
