how was this kid a 3 star? and i'm not saying this after he surprised people, i'm saying it now

big kid with a cannon who was once seen as the savior of MSU football...a 3 star? how does this happen?

We will have to wait and see what he accomplishes at LSU

Rivals and Scout hate LSU ... Garrett would have been the first ever 6-star had he had signed with the bammers.

he looked pretty damn good and poised in the spring game, IMO.

and MSU, apparently

he seems to be a case of committing too soon for the draft sites

Probably not too far off base.

fwiw, co-worker of mine lives in the cypress area and goes to the same church as the shepards. he knows the family pretty well and they told him that shep would start off at the slot first, just to get him on the field. but he'd see alot of time at qb as well.

nothing new, but hey, it's something for the summer.

A couple of times in the spring game, he actually made his progressions. Pretty impressive for a freshman.

Also, he was A LOT more athletic than advertised IMO. All of his snaps were against the #1s and #2s which makes his performance more impressive. I still think he will RS, but I believe will play a major role @ LSU in a few years.

definitely excited about Garrett's potential

with the potential WR corps that miles is building, it would be an exciting attack...of course, if he goes away from running up the gut so damn much

If he does not RS then somebody needs to be shot.

ONLY way he wouldn't is if JJ and JL get hurt. I'm just glad now that LSU looks to have stability at the "traditional" QB position for foreseeable future with JJ, Jlee, and CG.

If he doesn't RS, then the 2009 edition of the Tigers is in a heap of trouble!

i'm hoping the florida arse raping last year has taught les something about what is needed in today's CFB

however, the fact that late in the year we packed in our offense (and got 5 times shittier in the process) makes me think he didn't get the memo

I know this means nothing but CG really passes the "eyeball" test. He just looked like a SEC caliber QB with his physical stature, arm strength, and most important his mannerisms on the field. JLee almost always looked distressed on the field though part of it was that he was basically thrown to the wolves b/c of the RP issue.
