No he's not. He's voicing a legitimate concern.

If you're a DL guru at LSU our DL play should be great and you should be able to darn near cherry pick your DL. That isn't happening. Getting Ish will help a lot but the concerns are still there.

24/7 composite rankings:

Orgeron 3 years:(not counting 2016)

2017 = 7
2018 = 15
2019 = 5-9(still to be determined)

Miles last 3 years:

2013 = 6
2014 = 2
2015 = 5

lol at 2018 = 15 when it doesn't include Burrow, Cole Tracy, or Alexander.

All because a reportedly underwhelming prospect.

If you are going to talk about depth, it would a good idea to include all of the DL on the roster

Well, they signed 7 last year.

Do they all suck or are we just assuming they’re all scrap becuase they didn’t play over experienced upper class men?

Of those 7, two play offense and two play linebacker.

I have yet To see a real breakdown of how that’s true

The real truth is that Brick started missing on DL like crazy and we had Senior us depth issues especially switching to 3-4.

OL recruiting wasn’t as bad as people make it out to. We had some high rated OL

It's a major cop out, sure.. but I don't feel like going to old classes and rankings. But LSU's classes under Miles were predominantly filled with 5* and 4* CBs, Safeties, RBs, and WRs. There was a big splash at DL or OL every other cycle or so, but it was very inflated considering the way we used the WRs and how many of the CBs we could actually put on the field when the prior classes had just as talented guys ahead of them.

In 2015 we took 5 OL 2 were top 10 OTs and a 5* guard.

2016 we took 3 OL

2014 we took OL who were 4 stars.

DL and keeping the DL on campus was an issue.

Bain and LMFOA getting kicked off the team hurt, but in 2016 we took Lawrence, Logan and Alexander and wanted Oliver bad.

Maybe our top guys were very high ranked skill players, but we had a decent amount of OL too

And we put 4 CBS on the field routinely, so recruiting a lot of them is important. We had major CBS depth issues.

I agree We recruited a lot of WRs for a team running 2 WR sets.

Are you seriously complaining? We loaded up last class and are set to load up again next year.

Yall need to remove defensive ends that are OLBs in a 3-4 and look again. Depth is a concern

I just checked through the 2011 recruiting class til 2016

Year - QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, DB, LB
2011 - 02, 01, 02, 01, 03, 01, 00
2012 - 00, 01, 01, 03, 01, 03, 04

2014 - 01, 02, 03, 03, 02, 03, 01
2015 - 00, 03, 04, 03, 01, 03, 00
2016 - 00, 1*, 04, 02, 05, 04, 01

*Devin White listed as a RB

2011 - 40% of the 4*s+ in this class came from the RB, WR, and DB position

Oh yea that would have put LSU at 14.

Rules/expectations sure do change for Coach O for some reason..

In 2015 we took
Reuben 5* OG
Weathersby 4* Top 10 OT
Okeke 4* Top 10 OT
Magee 3* OT
Brown 3* OT

We had 13 5/4* and 3 were OL

Only 5 OL play out of 22 starters.

3/13 > 5/22

Now DL was an issues, and that’s the year we switched to O to address that issue.

There are contributors from the previous classes, but honestly no stand out players like LSU is accustomed to on the DL. That's not knock on the kids, but just reality. They will be solid to good players that will definitely contribute, but you'd think O's area of specialty would be top tier talent on this team. It hasn't panned out that way.

He's always given an excuse, but we'll see what happens.
