Two words for you. Cupid Shuffle. Saban does it in the kid's living room, and it puts them under his spell. They can't say no.

Cause they know it tears up some of the kids in this fan base. The grown ups know this will happen. This staff beat the little guy his first year at LSU. Don’t think it will be the last.

They ask the player to play along early in the process.

Might not apply this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes Bama gets silent commits to them to lead on other teams. Then when they announce Bama at the last minute, it gives weak willed and negative fans of that school something to obsess about and downplays an overall positive recruiting class.

That’s Saban’s MO. Once he gets his hooks in, that’s the next step. Not only take what they want but keep them from looking for a replacement as long as possible, hopefully til it’s too late. And LSU is usually Charlie Brown.

You say that like it actually means something. Here’s a hint. If it ain’t a playoff game, it’s 100% irrelevant.

Easy to recruit when you can tell an 18 yr kid that EVERY Alabama player who stayed at least 4 years has won a National Championship. In Saban’s office he proudly displays the 6 NC rings and encourages the recruits to put them on.

Most kids buy into the process. Very few can tell Saban “No Thanks” when asked to verbally commit on their visit. Devin White pretty much told Saban ..”No Coach, I’m staying home and playing at LSU”. Saban replied “best of luck as I’ll just beat you every year you’re at LSU”. DW’s record vs. ALA was 0-3, while ALA played in 3 consecutive NC games going 1-2.

In the last 8 CFB seasons (2015 - present), ALA has played in 6 NC games winning 3 of them.
