How can a Louisiana recruit grow up not an LSU fan?

Most of the current Louisiana recruits have been interested in football for the last 7 years (age 11), and LSU has won 2 national championships during this time period.
This, along with the traditional love of LSU which is rampant in Louisiana, should make every high school football player like LSU.
Even the ones whose parents did not pass the LSU love down, are exposed to a lot of peer pressure for LSU.
It doesn't make since that recruits pop up wanting to go elsewhere. Their love of LSU should override the desire to leave the state.

Easy. Their parents like another team, they hate hearing about LSU, they like another team better, they like another coach better, they hate hearing about LSU. The combinations are endless. You can't tell someone who to like. A recruit choses what he wants to do. Just because you give a horse the best horse feed there is doesn't mean he will like it.

He might want to go to a better school? Or maybe to a school with a fanbase lacking a large contingency of paranoid delusional assholes?

I grew up in Houston but have always been an LSU fan. Not everyone ina certain place has roots there.

Grew up in LA and was always a Miami fan due to family in Florida. Never rooted against LSU, but if I would've been offered by both, would've gone to the U. Of course it didn't matter due to horrible genetics.

So, are your kids going to grow up UGA fans?

Not everybody who grows up in Louisiana likes it here.
Louisiana is a shithole, comparatively speaking. Some recruits know this. Others haven't been exposed to much else and don't have a reference point. Some have, and like it better here. It boils down to personal preference.

maybe this ignorance, racism, and negativity that is on the rant & politiboard could hurt.

It should be noted though if your a Louisiana recruit and chose to play for LSU you'll be fine for the rest of your life. You'll always have a job and thought of highly.
If you chose an out of state school over LSU, like Mcknight, you can forget about coming back to Louisiana and expect to have a job waiting for you.
Louisiana will take care of its own people

Anyone who's lived away from Louisiana for any length of time learns to appreciate our state so much better.
Simply put, we have the best food, music, and people around. Our culture is unique, our state is beautiful, and we have every reason to be proud of our heritage.
