How big of a miss is Zavion Thomas right now?

Returned a kick for a TD last night vs A&M. Returned a punt for a TD last year vs UGA.
He’s actually useful offensively as well at 5’11.
LSU is 124th in special teams efficiency in the country. One. Two. Four.
Two offside on kickoffs, a fumbled kickoff.
And Zavion Thomas begged to come to LSU not once but twice.

It’s the second year in a row a muffed kickoff led to a touchdown for the opposition. A kickoff. We not even talking about punts yet.

I could see him being the WR transfer we add and I think we do add 1 in the portal. Others talking about Shepherd from Vandy. He’s a senior. Why wouldn’t he enter the draft? I want a portal WR with stats and not draft eligible. Not a rotation guy who the NFL isn’t interested in.

Might have made the difference in Bama and OM losses with a special return. Short sighted to say no impact because our offense is so prolific.

I don't think the players are the problem. There's almost never any room for the returners when they catch the punt. To me, we're giving the punter too much time with our soft mush rush, which allows the coverage guys time to get down field.

Agree. Our special teams is not very good.

That’s a complacent attitude. Can always be better and our plan of just fair catching every single punt is still sad at this level of football. Even with the best offense in the country it’s pathetic

The belief was that Aaron Anderson was the better prospect and when we landed him, Thomas was forgotten
