re: Houston Bates

Flask, his post still makes me think that LSU and Houston Bates are no longer connected to one another or at least they won't be for long. I'll stand by my thought on him being a good player and possibly a steal if we keep him, big time motor and constantly creates problems for blockers

So there it is, they asked him to greyshirt. I thought he was recruited at MLB and the only other MLB we are recruiting is Luc. I can understand him being pissed about the greyshirt but damn, the dude hates LSU for recruiting another player at his projected posistion? I like the kid as a player but his talent doesn't merit that sort of recruiting strategy from a program like LSU. Good luck to him

tj, that is probably the dumbest shite I have read on this board, and that is saying something. The word is that this kid's work ethic is off the charts....and this is coming from somebody that knows firsthand about it. Criticize his play all you want but shut the hell up about work ethic when you don't know what the frick you are talking about.

So 7 pages over a kid that is crying because he was asked to greyshirt. Like he's the first to have ever been asked to do so.

Pretty much prom and like I said, I understand him being upset but he has got to realize that there are better ways to handle disappointment than writing expletives about the team you so obviously desire to attend. Look at Josh Johns, he agreed to GS and he will very likely be a scholarship player at LSU, hell if I remember correctly they DID award Johns a scholly and Johns was more of a borderline prospect than Bates. Show some class Houston, i know it's a shitty situation and you're pissed but this is the time to start becoming a man mentally and not just physically. Again Houston, good luck man, you are a very good football player and seem to be a nice kid you just need to learn when it's best to keep things close to the vest

This is the problem with this early recruiting before players senior and sometimes junior season.

one site is reporting that LSU offered A. Wilson to play weak side DE. he is rated 5.7 and lives in ala. but is from Louisiana (katrina victim). look like we found possible bates replacement.
