They think other schools wouldn't pull a scholarship.

Pulling scholarship = gambling with future.

(According to them).

No school the caliber of LSU would even consider him.

Colorado does not count.

The reality of the situation is that he probably came to camp and impressed. They liked what they saw. They took his "commitment" and told him he had to work hard to keep his scholly etc.

As he played they realized he sucked arse and he lost the scholarship he thought he had.

Just as no recruit is a guarantee until they sign... no scholarship is a guarantee until you sign...

If he said that, and I have no reason to think he did not, he needs to be cut loose regardless if the staff wants him. If they asked him to greyshirt and he reacted like this then he doesn't deserve a scholarship to play at LSU

Why the frick would LSU offer a guy of his caliber that early in the process? As long as hes been a "commitment" our coaches have had every opportunity to tell him what the deal is with his scholly or lack thereof. He lives like 2 hours from LSU and prolly grew up an LSU fan. Why not just tell him they like him alot and wanna see some video of his SR and dont commit to anyone until you check with us first.

if this is all true then the bigger issue is that we thought this staff really knew what they were looking for in the DL. Now who was the other DL that impressed in camp and has no other credible offers. BLACKMON. i wonder how long before his offer is pulled.

so, i have to say it.

where are all the tards that said 'if miles gave him an offer, then he is good.' ?

speak up.

you could prolly also say that we ain't going to beat Bama with guys like him. i'm sick of the 'motor' talk. if you aint dominant, you shouldn't get an offer.

I'm right here.

Bashing a commitment is a shitty and classless thing to do. It was back when I defended it and it still will be tomorrow. Show some respect for your own team and yourself and don't bash 18 year old kids who are far more talented than any of us ever were.

Well, you need to understand that everyone LSU signs is not going to be all sec. LSU cant sign all 4 and 5 stars.

My question is, why offer this kid so early in the process? LSU could have told him to wait it out and if we lost out on guys higher on the board, then offer this kid in Jan. and get his commtiment. Theres no need to offer a kid that lives 2 hours away based on camp performance and a good motor.

For everyone that buys into him never having a legit offer. Our coaches knew good and well this kid thought he was a solid commtiment. They know what goes on and what is said on rivals and scout. They had months to contact this kid and straighten out any confusion between he and the staff.

Could our staff have offered too early and then decided to wait and see how he progressed his SR year and then make a decision based on that, whether to keep him or cut him loose? Did we string him along like Joe Mck and Janzen did to our coaches?

We do not know what the coaches told him...Maybe the coaches said we will offer you a schollie but it is conditional - based on your play or Miles may feel the Ego or another big time player will come to LSU...All schools do this - would you take Ego or Bates?
