Aggies expecting a commit Friday and it’s some growing confidence it’s Mathews. Word is a bunch of guys gave silents at the pool party.(Smoke bouie Jacoby Mathews and Bear Alexander) Don’t know how true it is.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s true. Bryce has been in his ear and was the reason he visited the Aggies in the first place. Maybe it’s similar to the situation like Maason Smith and Korey Foreman? I’m hoping...
Maybe it’s early playtime at A&M and the fact we signed the best safety haul in the country last class including the addition of burns.
He also didn’t like the fact some LSU fans were saying it was money involved when he decommited.
Guess we gotta wait and see how this one plays out baws!!!

Ik some folks on LSU side have confidence in Perkins but I’m in the norm of I’ll believe it when I see it.

I have some aggie friends who are very confident on both Perkins and Matthews(plus other 5 stars) and it all hinges on NIL. These are homers, but somewhat realistic. They admit they aren’t a top 10 team this year, but this could be their best class ever and the #1 class in the country.

Supposedly he gave Texas a silent commitment earlier in the spring and days before committing to LSU told Arizona State staff he was coming there. It’s kinda bizarre.

yeah, that’s pretty wild 
then starts recruiting heavily for LSU and says he’s 110%, recruiting is shutdown, 2 weeks go by and he decommits and ends up at A&M’s pool party

I wouldn't bank on him staying committed if he does indeed commit Friday. A lot will transpire between now then. Trust our staff on Mathews. The Perkins ship has sailed. Our side is just naive at this point if they feel differently.

So you believe Perkins is that one recruit this cycle that Coach O believes is a lock to us but eventually goes elsewhere and we wasted a ton of resources on plus have no backup option??

So if the interest in TAMU is all due to NIL, what are they doing to use it as a recruiting tool that we’re not doing? And why aren’t we using the same incentives (assuming they’re legal)? I’ve heard stories and read the nuggets about Aggie recruits signing “offer sheets” for NIL endorsements, why aren’t we using NIL to our advantage like they seem to be doing?

Unfortunately NIL is gonna be a game changer for the Aggies. LSU has money but not A&M type of money. Those boosters and local businesses are willing to pay big bucks for these highly recruited athletes. Especially since the Longhorns are SEC bound on the horizon.

The recent interview with Matthews is that he's not committing until signing day, so if true, he's not committing Friday, but maybe he's trolling and he does commit, long time till signing day tho

Wait *what*? Why the absolute frick would we let jacoby go? We're literally still the heavy favorites to land him, at least according to crystal balls and futurecasts and all that. If there was legitimate sourcing on the A&M side that he was about to commit there, somebody would've put in a crystal ball or a futurecast.
To all the people freaking out about the fact that he retweeted bryce anderson...Have you guys already forgotten all the times that maason smith retweeted georgia shite? Or, hell, all the times that korey foreman posted LSU shite? If there is one thing that I have learned following recruiting, it's that these kids just post shite because they think it's funny or fun to watch entire fanbases freak the frick out. If jacoby matthews was really about to commit to A&M on Friday, he'd probably be posting LSU shite so that it'd be a big surprise.
Bottom line - we shouldn't be worrying about matthews imo. If O can steal sage back from saban at the last minute, I have very little doubt that he can steal matthews back from jimbo. And even that's assuming that jacoby is actually an A&M lean--of which I am skeptical.
