Saying that Texas has to money whip every kid to come to Texas is a bunch of sour grapes nonsense.
LSU has played in 3 national championships since the last time Texas has. Saying Texas has bought their way into relevancy is factual

I’m sure he’s playing for free due to his love for Texas.

Seems like LSU will really go hard in the transfer portal

That turned out great in years past. It’s hilarious how shitty BK has been at navigating this BS. Last season it was “we’re not going to over spend in the portal.. we want to build our roster through high school recruiting”

Now that you’ve swung and missed on 5 prized recruits in your class, you have this come to Jesus moment where you need to go all out in the portal.

LSU and BK just suck at recruiting. All of that money tied up in a 100 mil contract could be used to solidify the roster. It’s amazing the amount of cope you see from this board

The purity has been long gone. Bama, Ohio State and others including LSU have been anything but pure. However, I agree w/you that it is even more of a stinking cesspool now

It definitely hasn’t been pure in some time, but the air is completely out the ball now. When players on your team are at the same risk level of going elsewhere as any hs recruit, it’s over. It ain’t coming back

Hopefully the salary cap implemented this summer changes things.

Revenue sharing is separate from NIL. Players will still be able to negotiate NIL deals on top of their revenue sharing earnings. Don't hold your breath.

Now we have posters saying that BK's salary comes from the Bayou Traditions Collectives pot.

What a shite show college football has become and you will see this more and more. Recruits will flip for big money then the schools they flipped from will panic and desperately overpay to fill those voids at the tale end of these classes.

Texas does have to money whip their players into coming there. How do you think they got the players to go 11-1 in the SEC in the first place doofus???

You can’t trust anything in college football now. The purity of the sport is completely gone. I feel like my interest is going away with it.

Sadly I’m in the same boat. Hope we stop the bleeding though because this sucks

After Kelly a few months ago said they wouldn’t put too much money into portal players to build up their high school players and “develop” them

LSU is simply too poor to compete in either sadly. Everything else is just excuses

No other team in all of college football is losing like LSU is losing in the last 10 days and it's not even close. BK is Kamala Harris. All talk. No action.

The bulk of Brian Kelly's salary comes from boosters, not LSU. Those same boosters are unlikely to invest in Kelly's huge salary AND the collective, so it's certainly not far fetched to say that Brian Kelly's salary does affect the collective.

He also made it public last week that he was shutting down his recruitment and signing with LSU.

So tell us, what changed in the last week?

The obvious answer is that Texas offered him a ton of money.

yep, which is him telling Texas that they need to up the offer if they want him to flip.

recruits know what they're doing when they say things like that publicly.

Coaching salaries in the SEC per season range from $8-10 million a year so no matter what, the boosters will still have a salary to pay. To even point that out is ridiculous.

That mindset is long gone.

Until LSU proves otherwise with results, they don't have the money to sit at the big boy NIL table
