I noticed on 247 his high school is listed as being from Desoto instead of West mesquite. Anyone have any info?

I think everyone knows he was dismissed from his team, but I didn't hear anything about him transfering that's why I asked. Desoto is a powerhouse, just curious to why he is listed there.

Yes he has transfered to Desoto but the chance of hI'm being eligible is very low, Texas transfer rules are very strict most likely he will have to sit out his final year

Should his dismissal be a red flag?

This is a situation in which we needed prime prep.

We had a little pipeline starting from there.

Jordan Mickey Basketball
Brandon Martin WR 2015 class.

Prime prep is still around, rebranded themselves (no Deion Sanders influence) to Triple A academy.

He also might end up at one of the private schools up there. I would guess either Prestonwood Christian or Bishop Dunne. They are both loaded with DI talent and are handing out schollys left and right.

Yes, he transferred to Desoto ( LINK). Still, no word whether he can play yet.

That was my thought. Get him to a TAPPS school. He could still play then. UIL is very strict on transfer rules. Totally different sport and circumstance, but Micah Gibbs had to sit out his senior year when he moved from Austin to Houston.

The transfer rules really aren't that strict. The two AD's just have to sign off allowing the player to play at their new school. So if his old coach/AD is butthurt then he may not play for awhile.

Obviously, if a player moves schools for what is assumed to be just for athletic reasons (which is almost impossible to prove) a school within the district can make a complaint and the UIL will look into it.

The rules are only as strict as the two schools that are involved want them to be.

Kaegun Williams, one of the better RB's in the class of 2016 just transferred from Stephenville to Cedar Hill with literally no issues, the two coaches just signed and he was gone. The kid was the best player at Stephenville which is typically a powerhouse in 4A in Texas, and he transferred to the back to back 6A state champions. If that happened without incident then that tells you all you need to know about the transfer rules here.

Doubtful. Boys will be boys and sometimes they won't all get along, especially under competitive circumstances like football.

Had it been anyone else besides a coach's son (the other person involved in the scuffle), I doubt he would have been dismissed.

What I've heard is that the coach's son got heavily preferential treatment throughout the whole ordeal.

Nah. This is the kind of WR Coach Cameron covets!

They will overlook the dismissal. Publicly they will say they do not condone it, but privately, they LOVE guys like this, guys that like to fight, mix it up a little, etc.

Care to elaborate more?

I think he would know a little about what kind of receiver Cam covets due to the fact that his son is a receiver on the team. Plus there's the rumor that Jarvis Landry did the real damage outside Shady's in 2011

His son is Trey Quinn, hence the reason I asked. I figured he either 1) really knows what Cams loves and is telling the truth or 2) upset about TQ's playing time towards the end of last season. It was a legitimate question with no flame intended.

LOL, I wish my genetics were that good to produce talented offspring. For the record I have a daughter.

Wrong guy, but thank you Cousin! I could only wish for a high character kid like Trey!

Cam has said publicly that he feels that taller guys win more of the 50/50 balls we like to throw, have a larger catch radius, and create mismatches.
