Well the "before Christmas" timetable was in a quote from Gunner. All the other timetables were rumors though.

Maybe Gunner wants to come to LSU and his family wants him closer to home. This is where I can see the delay coming into play.

people need to understand that he doesn't have to make anything public. all that matters is what he has told les. he may prefer to be a silent commit for a reason only he knows. we will know when we know but for those that are frantic about when is he going to tell "us" it doesn't mean anything. he can commit w/o telling "us".

Plausible that he made a very close tough decision and THEY decided to sit on the decision for a few days to see if it still felt right a few days later.
I can hear his dad speaking, "OK if that is what you want to do then I support you, but there is no reason to rush the decision. Lets just wait till after Christmas and if you still feel the same way in a few days then you can make the announcement. You gain nothing by announcing immediately."

Quite possible, especially considering how quintessentially Midwestern down to earth and reserved the kid seems to be.
Unfortunately, a silent commit always = a soft commit. Which I suppose means that if he's chosen ND or Vandy, we've still got a legit shot at him.

The concept of a silent commit to me is stupid. Based on typical recruit patterns silent commit just means you favor that particular school but in reality you don't really want to commit. I would never take a silent commit if I were LSU, either you are in or you are out.

When does the new semester start. The day it starts is when he has to report to a school. Untill then we may never know.
