LSU starts the 16th I believe. Not sure about Vandy and ND, but I'm pretty sure they are earlier. Probably a week if I had to guess.
ETA: Vandy for sure starts earlier. I am guessing on ND.

Assuming all of his admissions paperwork is in order (and I suspect the AD will make sure it is) and he does not have to fulfull a Freshman Orientation prerequisite (which runs from the 10th thru the 12th), the Spring Semester starts January 17th, but classes can be added as late as January 26th. Doubt it goes that long.

He has plenty of time to choose which school he want to go to. This could last another week or so.

The reality of the situation, though, is that he needs to make a decision by the end of the year to get started planning to pack and move, etc.
