We just had a QB put up the best numbers of all time against SEC West defenses.
Doesn’t matter. That’s not the norm in the SEC.
In the Big12, even shitty QBs look good and good QBs easily win Heismans.
Hell, there has been a few shitty QBs win Heismans in the Big12. One recently.

so my question is, If he commits to us, will this effect Caleb Williams decision?
quote:Lol based on what information? Every single thing he’s posted or said lately has been pro-lsu
Personally I think Caleb's mind is elsewhere now since Brady left Lsu

I remember when we turned down Mason Rudolph and waited around for Brandon Harris.

You can look at last recruiting cycle if you want an example of missing out on recruits while waiting for another. How many RBs did LSU miss out on waiting for Evans? Thankfully it worked out and we got Bradford but it could have burned us bad.
Should we have taken 2 RBs in 2014 when we desperately needed them or are you glad that we waited for Leonard Fournette?
If the staff takes Nuss that’s fine, just be honest with Caleb about it.
Caleb isn’t scared of anyone, he wasn’t mad that Georgia took Brock. He was mad that they told him they were taking 1 QB and that he wa the only one that they wanted.
Kirby lies a ton. That’s what he does. O has a track record of being honest with these kids.

It also help that we just skull drug them.
Kids see the SEC as a minor league NFL and want to be here. If Brennan produces then I truly think we land Caleb. I wouldn’t be shocked if he commits before the season though. QBs typically jump early now with the December NSD.

Nuss is going to be a really good college QB.

Nuss is going to be a really good college QB.
I trust the staffs evaluation and roster construction.
Personally I hope they take both.

quote:Yeah because we really shut down Ehlinger and Alabama and LSUs QB production was so down right?
He wants to go play in the EA Sports league (Big12) where every QB puts up stupid numbers because they play against air.
Clown show. Penn States a bigger threat that Oklahoma

April 18 is the same day as the spring game. Hmmm...

I'll take either Garrett or Caleb or both. I don't really care. As both have really great highlight videos.

His tape looks a lot like Brennans. I hope we get him.
I like Nussmeier's tape a lot better than I did Brennan's. Plus Brennan's video was against top-flight competition, while Brennan's, on the other hand, was against the Catholic League.

If cw wants to play around and not commit, then he was never coming here.
Or he's not ready to make a decision yet. Was Guillory scared to compete when it took him so long to commit when everyone knew where he was going? Was Boutte scared to compete while flirting with Bama all year? Some kids have certain timelines and some just don't know yet.
This take Nuss because he wants to be here stuff is ridiculous. That's the mindset that has made our QB history the past decade+ as shitty as it was. Settling. If you're gonna play with the big boys then you have to wait then out.
Next thing many aren't this Kong is twofold. First, who says we are the school Nuss wants? Haven't seen him say we lead in fact he's visited quite a few schools since he was last here.
Second, who says Nuss is next on our board or a take at all? Many in the know believe Ty Thompson is next on our board not Nuss.
Nuss' offer list looks like it does because maybe hes second fiddle/backup for most of the programs that have offered. I can assure you Williams is a backup plan to no one pursuing him

I agree We made want Nuss
We need Caleb Williams
We need Caleb Williams

Settle down Chief. The people posting on this board are just fans, like you, and don't make decisions.
You are acting like you are trying to talk us out of making a horrible decision.
There is no action required on our part, nor yours.

Caleb posted that pic yesterday and all of a sudden, a commitment announcement...hmmmmmm

quote:I haven’t seen him say he has a commitment date yet but the trend the past couple of years is that QBs typically are in the boat before their Sr season starts.
Isn’t he expected to?
Calebs obviously elite enough that he can wait if he wants but if you listen to the kid speak he doesn’t seem like an arrogant punk. Quite the opposite really. Seems well grounded.

67% on a lot of downfield throws, comfortable in the pocket, with quick feet, and throws well on the run. I just looked at his highlights for the first time, and unless there is some ugliness in his lowlights I'd be thrilled to get this guy.

Go and look up their stats and see that it's not vastly different. You act like West Virginia didn't throw up a bunch of yards vs LSU with the best defense we had this century (463 pass yards 2 TD 2 int). Texas Tech did the same thing in 2015 (370 pass yards 4 TD 1 int). What about Texas in 2019 (401 yards 4 TD).
quote:lol, so now Mayfield and Murray are only "good" QBs? When the SEC has another super bowl winning QB (Mahomes Big 12) or offensive rookie of the year QB (Murray Big 12), then you can say this shite.
