I feel like the last couple of years they have had great classes, but they never amount to anything on the field. Its not like the ACC is some power conference, Ill take LSU kids and our coaching staff, over a top 3 class who never translates shite to the field.

FSU was decimated by injuries last year and they were not deep. Jimbo is really putting together some serious talent. They are going to be a power in the next few years.

When those classes from the past couple years are juniors and seniors in a couple more years they will be really good. Their defense is already pretty sick.

FSU has been signing top classes for years but they seem to always underachieve, like Clemson.

Fsu is going to be big time next year.

Jimbo and saban have the same secret in recruiting apparently.

I just went looked at our class and it was good. Then went and looked at bamas and Florida states and then ours looked like dog shite.

I don't like this at all.

That one single game has put lsu on its head.

The OP has a point though. They have better talent than anyone in that conference, have recruited like gangbusters the last few years, and still lay eggs on the field and haven't lived up to expectations.

I think FSU is a perfect example of how inaccurate recruiting services are. FSU is in a huge media market, and when things are positive for the Florida schools, that translates into lots of recruiting service subscriptions.

Look at Virginia Tech, for example. All they do is dominate the ACC, win or go to the ACC championship every year, and keep beating up on FSU.

But they don't get much love on signing day.

This will be jimbos 3rd year.

Their defense alone will be unfricking real

Your point? I never said they were bad. But they haven't lived up to expectations when the state is about as mediocre as it's ever been as far as programs are concerned.

Texas has signed great classes for years yet outside Vince Young's team, Texas has been the biggest underachievers in college football.

If I had a dollar for everytime I heard this one since 2000 then Id be a rich man. FSU has been top 10 recruiting almost every single year this past decade and is top 5 most years and havent done diddly poo since before Chris Rix.

this may have been discussed but why do they have such a small class this year? Did they lose some scholarships?

I'm glad to see that some of y'all get it. Just give those classes Jimbo has signed a chance to get into the program. Every recruit isn't a Tim Jernigan, make an impact right out of HS.

I believe it has to do with our APR(I think that's right). Instead of taking a big class in 2012, and then have to move people. We will sign more in 2013 when we have a number of players leave.

Perhaps so but one cannot deny the fact that these highly recruited classes appear to be largely opinion and do not automatically translate to wins.

If the do then LEs and Co have done more with less.....and according to many here thats just not possible

There it is. That's what you really wanted to say. Most of our recruiting was done before that game.
