Seems like that’s our play is the end game with him announcing so soon. However the staff is riding high off Pickett and trying to get him back now. Let’s see if Frank can pull this one off.

Going into this decision, it is going to be a tough decision and I have to decide if I am going to stay in Louisiana or go away to Florida,” Antoine told On3. “I am a Louisiana kid, I am choosing between LSU and Miami, so it won’t be easy. Both Miami and LSU are schools I like a lot, so it is a big decision for me to make.”

Our side is pushing hard with Frank to sway it back to us. Most think he chooses Miami as of today.

I suspect the staff smells blood in the water and is doing everything possible to get Antoine and Meadows and wrap up a monster recruiting week.

It feels like we’re gaining momentum could we see a 3/3 on Pickett, Meadows and JA?

After yesterday ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

This could be the best week in awhile if that happens. Also isn't Jimcoily suppose to pick this week out of LSU and Stanford?

Gotta be selling him on being the bookend CB to Pickett. Miami has emptied the bank on players in past seasons with little to show for it and I'm sure our staff is emphasizing that. I do think they go 9-3 this year because their schedule is even weaker than the last 2 seasons. If we can be competitive with the offer I think we win.

Agreed, which is why I put it in quotations. Doesn't seem like we'll have the John Ruiz or Phil Knight type donor, but we aren't struggling.

was more confident we'd land antoine second time around than we would get pickett. but after landing pickett yesterday, how can we not feel confident this staff has the horses to close the gap and land antoine too?

Being beholden to and relying on one donor is not good for the long term anyway.

Phil Knight is 86 and his children are not sports fans or even Oregon fans.

There's nothing worse than the recruiting board from June to August. You rantards come in here with your stupid opinions, passing them off as absolute fact while bitching a whining about how the sky is falling.

Shut the frick up and take your arse back to the Rant to start another stupid arse thread about whatever thought passes through your ritalin laced mind and leave the recruiting board the frick alone. fricking dipshits.

You're either responding to the wrong person or another one that lacks reading comprehension. I simply said LSU will have zero issues recruiting even without top 5 NIL spend.

This happens every single year no matter if we have a top 3 class or if we are outside of the top 10. The staff is doing what I thought they would do when we hired them. It’s not over either. I love how people sleep on LSU. I would also love to play Miami or Oregon in a playoff game just so we could shut that noise up.

At least now everyone’s competition is up similar what LSU and the SEC has always had to deal with. It’s a lot easier to get ready for 1 tough game but when you have 4 or 5 in a row, on top of road games, it’s another level. They will now find out and I’m ready to see the results of that. This will just be par for the course for LSU and the SEC.

Let's face it. If you are an 18 year old kid with the choice to live in Miami vs Baton Rouge, that's probably a pretty easy choice. But that is just one aspect of the decision. We of a certain age remember "the U" from the 80's, 90's, early 2000's. But that aura has long worn off for a group of recruits who literally weren't even born the last time Miami was a major player in college football.

Take out the glamour of being a young adult with some degree of money living in a flashy city and what's left is a football program desperately trying regain what it was 20+ years ago, at a school where the fanbase is, at best, lukewarm in their support (even if the team is decent), in a conference that is getting left behind in changing world of college football.

If you want to live a fun lifestyle, go to a nice school, and play football for a program that MAYBE can gain some fringe relevance, but not really compete on a big scale, go to Miami. There's nothing wrong with that. But if football is the main objective with everything else being secondary, you go to LSU and the SEC.

I hope this board has a clear understanding to chill if he picks Miami at this stage in the game because this will be FAR FROM OVER, especially if we have a good season. Even if he commits to U, I don't see him resisting the pull to LSU by signing day. I trust the process, coaches, & LSU appeal by December and consider us the favorite in the end to land him.
