Another way to look at that is Payton is great if he’s got a good line to help. It appears we will.

Remains to be seen how good the line will be. You all get stimulated by the simple addition of players. None of these guys are all that exciting, individually.

The fit that Payton is wearing in that pic is fire. That purple and gold just sticks out when the colors are worn in the right way.

You think Swinson is better than Payton?
I think they’re comparable players at a minimum, and I saw what peoples did with Swinson who had been a career backup prior to 2024
Id take Swinson back causing havoc in 2025 so who wouldn’t we be excited about Payton replacing him? No brainer

His 2023 numbers were pretty close to what Swinson put up this year. Put him in the right system with People’s developing, and I bet we see something similar to his 2023 year.
Development and a change of scenery tends to make a world of difference for a lot of guys. I’m willing to bet he puts up 50 tackles and 7 sacks.

Because this is his MO. He also has Berry as the 5th or 6th best RB in the state, so his opinions are about as useless as the shite my dog took this morning

Who gives a frick? This isn’t about how a player compares to another player. Lsu can only use what’s available to fill holes and they’re getting some of the best players available to do just that. That’s the takeaway here. No need to shite all over it just bc Jadeveon Clowney isn’t available.

Who else do you want them to add? These are the best players in the portal at their positions. Payton and Pyburn are NFL players. And Butler has the athleticism to be with the development of Peoples.

You said none are exciting. Aka implying none of them are all that good. I’m not sure how much more exciting you want them to be as an NFL caliber player. There’s no Caleb Downs level players in the portal this year. Anybody with any sense knows that this DL will be better than this year’s. And this year’s wasn’t all that bad.

It’s exciting in a sense that these guys are better than what lsu has(tho I wish they could have held a guy like Womack).
LSU’s two best coaches are Peoples & Davis. I look forward to see what they can do but it’s always worth to stay mindful on why these guys are transferring.
