For the star grazers...projection

These are just some initial impressions...
Feist will probably be a 5.7 3 star on Rivals. His production is great but with him playing a different position than he projects at the next level and the small classification, I don't think he will make the 4* status until he proves himself in pass coverage at camps. Raw athlete.
Gordon could very well be a 5.8 4* product. I could see him being towards the bottom of the ~300 players that get four stars. TE doesn't always get the most love from recruiting sites so I can definitely see him sticking at a high 3*. He has awesome size at 6'5 250 and is a pretty athletic player to go along with that. He has a great frame that could molded into a couple different positions. LSU could put a ton of weight on him and make him into an offensive tackle, add only a few pounds and make him into more of a blocking TE that can catches a few passes here and there, or keep him around his current weight and have him be an all-around TE. He doesn't have the best speed at the position but he does show some athleticism.

What about Johnson, Granier and Davis?

Johnson is a 5.
Grainer is a 4 maybe get bumped up.
Davis is a 3 and after he blows everyone away, he will be a 4.

Johnson should be a top 20 guy...depending on how many 5s they give out, he should be one of them by the end of the year.
Trey will be a high 4 star. Probably top 100, maybe even top 50.
Davis...he is a sleeper. No film is out on the kid, but if LSU took him early then expect at last 3* and will probably push 4*, but this is a completely guess.

Please point me towards some film where granier looks even half way good. Nothing I've watched is close to 4 star quality. Thanks.

The analysis of Feist is dead on in regards to why he could be a 5.7 3* but if you've seen him play or seen his film that kid is a definite 4* athlete.Undersized at DE but is fast and is always around the ball.Athletically he's definitely a 4*.The sites could miss him though much like they did with Magee and Eugene. With him commiting this early though it should make the "experts" take a better look at him evaluate him fairly.

Right on the money. He is a definite 4* athletically, but the doubts that will exist in the scouts minds initially will keep him out of 4 star contention...at least until he shows up at camps. If he shows out at camp, then he could skyrocket...but the problem is he is not going to get much focus from the scouts during the year because he is already committed. Just one of the downfalls of committing early--it hurts the kids ranking. Completely unfair, but just the way the system works and how the sites try to sell subs.

Lynxcat please let me know where you have seen video of granier to make you think that he's potentially one of the top 50 players in the country. Thanks

Lynx whats up brother, I think Davis is a four star he has freakish skills with his size. I think that with Granier,Davis and Feist look for the LSU to get two more backers one outside (Devall) and one inside not sure if we can get that guy instate. I think we need to sign 5 this year, 2 inside and 3 outside.

Scout has some pretty good film for him. Trey is a good sized kid that diagnoses plays extremely well. He also plays at a premium position which helps his ranking. There just aren't a ton of quality MLB prospects all over the place. A ton of SS/OLB hybrids and even pure OLB are out there but a shortage of pure MLBs because a lot get too big and are forced to play DE. It takes a unique blend of size, speed, flexibility, and play recognition.

Granier's film on scout is pretty underwhelming. He doesn't show much speed, he's very stiff, and he takes too many false steps which prevents him him from getting to the right place. It looks like he's watching too much back flow and not reading thru the OL, which is the kiss of death for MLBers. Was hoping you'd seen something other than the scout film and I have no idea how you saw top 50 from that. Hoping to see some better stuff from him in the future.

I can agree with some of what you are saying. Do you have access to Rivals? He has some different film there as well. He does look sort of stiff in his Scout film, but he moves around a bit more in the Rivals film.
My biggest issue with him is he looks flat footed on some plays which I think leads into the things you are saying. However, I think this can be fixed.
