Woods is a really underrated player, I think he's the best cover corner in the state. I highly doubt he's faster than Rickey Jefferson or Tredavious White and especially not faster than Jeryl Brazil. Really good player, his stock will soar during the camp circuit.

Not sure he's going to wait till mid July if other opportunities present themselves. He would love to be a tiger but is not gonna wait for a spot that could be filled by then. If he goes to camp committed to another school and earns an LSU offer he will commit to LSU. Recruiting is a business and you have to get in where you fit in.

Rankings are a joke on most of the .coms sites, they have regional guys do the state rankings in their area. Most regional guys only come to Louisiana for the state championship games and LSU camps. 247 is different, Barton Simmons is in Louisiana as I type this he came by the school I coach at yesterday.

A lot of no go for Deggs on here. Il be honest, I dont know much about him. I watched his most recent film and was truly impressed but dont know his measurables and such. I put him in my projection based on that one film alone. Yeah thats kind of dumb but we will see.

He was listed at 5'7 149 pounds at the combine. 0% chance for an offer.
Zero chance Josh Thomas or Chris Taylor get an offer.

Brazeley can fly pure speed, he's faster on the grass than the track...football speed. Perkins is more than likely not gonna get offered by LSU and if he does it will be at safety.

re: Question on Noel Ellis?

Xavier Woods is the best cover corner in the state in my opinion. He doesn't have elite speed but he tracks the ball great and breaks on the ball just as good. He is a little bit more athletic than Ellis and definitely bigger. Couldn't go wrong with either I prefer Woods.
He sounds like Michael Jackson when he talks sounds like a girl.

What position do you think he will excel most at?

I think he can play running back at a few BCS schools but is built better for the secondary. I have spoke to some scouts and they believe he can play receiver and return kicks as well.

Yep..that would be you

I don't know you, so why are you talking trash about me? You don't think I read this board? Do you really think a team like LSU is going to offer a kid because his coach is pushing him? Do you know how dumb that sounds? The reason I push is to see if they are serious or trying to slow play my kid, if your son was in the same situation I would believe you would do the same. He asks me for guidance so I give it and try to help him as much as I can. If that bothers you then there are always tap out shirts and punching bags take your frustration out there besides taking shots at me.
I guess I'd be the coach who is begging huh blazer? If he didn't get an early offer I think his chances of an offer will drop dramatically due to the numbers. By summer time they could have 11 or 12 and might only take 20 due to lack of scholarships. I truly believe he can play there, the staff wants to see him at camp and he's prepared to work hard and earn the offer. What coach wouldn't push their kid as hard as they can if they knew they could play there?

I coached against him in week 5 and he looks like a right tackle to me. Edinburgh will play left, Hawkins at right pretty scary bookends for the future LSU o-line. He played d-tackle and right tackle against us he is very athletic but very raw, I can see where the staff likes him at tackle. He has tremendous feet and athleticism, the reason why I don't see him on defense is his pad level and knee bend. He plays high at times but uses his athleticism on defense to make plays, he could play DT but I's play him at right tackle.
[quote]I really can't take his list too seriously. If you look at the list over all he has some guys all the way down who LSU has on their boards. example :
Shelby Christie is at 15 and guys like Carlton Perkins is 49, donald gage is 51 and deondre skinner is 53.

Agreed that list is kind of comical, I coach Perkins and there are not 48 players better than him in the state just watch his jr. highlights. There are numerous kids that were at Jr. Day not even listed.

Dandy Don's list :banghead:
