Who the frick doesn't? Do you know how many kids commit to a school without ever meeting the head coach one on one or face to face?

As does every head coach in any sport, thank you Captain Obvious.

BK doesn’t pay attention to defense. Pay attention Moses.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Has Saban or Kirby ever had a defensive season like we had last year? With all the turnover in assistant coaches, have they ever produced a product that bad?

Kelly relies on those around him more than guys like Saban or Kirby.

I mean Saban and Kirby are both defensive guys. Kirby had some pretty bad offenses in his past that prevented them from being better earlier on in his tenure. Saban's offense was just serviceable for a lot of the early years and relied on the defense to carry those teams and a strong running game.

Have you seen some of the offenses Bama and UGA had? If not for that metric ton of talent on defense that their coaches brought in, they wouldn't have been able to get over the hump like they did.

Nick Chubb and Sony Michel being there when Kirby got there was his saving grace early at UGA.

Saban has also had some very questionable defense the last few years as well and sub par secondaries when he is a DB guy by trade.

No, he hired mediocre assistants. Some fans called it from the very beginning, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong, CBK was wrong, but he corrected himself in a hurry and in emphatic fashion. Last year was a train wreck defensively, but even still, the results prove the CBK is a very good HC.

Ok?

Kelly is basically the OC of the team. So pretty much the same thing except different sides.

No. No! NO!

Please sweet, little, swaddled baby Jesus.

Anything but that.

I don't need or want our defense to be starting crap threads on the housing market, some dumbass reddit topic, or any damn little thing that enters their heads.

So that's why he completely revamped his defensive staff with the best of the best coaches?

Perhaps you're the one who is not paying attention.

Dude, Kirby & Saban are basically the DC of their team. Kelly relies on his DC much more.

Those aren't the same thing

The 2023 LSU offense was the Brian Kelly ND offense with a few tweaks to better utilize JD's elite running at the expense of BK's beloved TEs.
